Watching a team or individual grow, adapt, produce, execute, and evolve is a far greater feeling. And to be able to provide those opportunities and support, for those that have the attitude and aptitude to win is an honor.

W.E don’t like taking our foot off the gas. But when we do, we let someone else drive the bus, and take some time to say thank you to our awesome team. Company outing was a huge success, and huge thank you to Fort Miller Precast, Ty-Metal security gates and fabrication, and Saratoga Race Course the porch trackside for lunch never disappoints. This is a a tribute to Labor Day, enjoy the long weekend.

This is one day where many of us can remember when time stood still. We remember where we were, what we were doing, who we were with, the weather, the sounds and fear and shock that shook our country. Today W.E. honor those that fell and made the ultimate sacrifice. W.E will never forget.

W.E. understands that evolution is a process, perfection happens over long periods of time and involves being humble and being able to recognize where improvement can take place. Being consistent is key. Recently Western Earthworks joined a group of contractors from across the country to look inside other like minded businesses to see how they adapt to the same problems W.E. encounters. For two days we discussed issues relevant to business development and company growth and visited job sites to visually see how others approach the same problems…….it was incredible! And as it turns out we are not alone. We walked a job site on a development in Alabama where 850 homes will be built in the next 8 years. We spoke with other foremen and mangers, discussed the key elements of building a team and started relationships with contractors that are adapting and overcoming the same bumps in the road we face everyday. We always strive to do better, and we look forward to the future, it’s an exciting trip to be on!

This industry moves fast. Its far too easy to come up with excuses on why you can’t slow down, and with that it takes effort to pause, regroup and discuss what’s important during the normal blistering speed of the season. We make that effort and spend the day together to discuss and remind ourselves what’s important and our rules of engagement. It’s critical and we do that every year. This year was different though. We got to reap the rewards of our hard work under a roof that didn’t leak. Floors that were flat, and work space that was clean without any scars of contractors before us. It’s our next step, bringing our people to the next level, and we couldn’t be more proud of our team. thanks for being a part of team!
