🏗️ Foundation is almost complete in Buck Mountain!

With the foundation nearing completion, we’re one step closer to seeing this home start framing. Building on mountain terrain comes with its own set of challenges, but our crews continue to make great progress, one step at a time. 💪

🏡 The Ashford at Canterbury is starting to take shape!

This week, our framers wrapped up the roof and installed the underlayment in preparation for shingles. The roofing crew made quick work of this large roof, and we’re grateful for the hard work and dedication they brought to the job!

We couldn’t do what we do without the amazing crews and subcontractors we work with every day. Their craftsmanship and commitment are what help bring these homes to life. 👏

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but we're happy to see this house coming together and start looking like a home!

🏡 Siding is underway in Blowing Rock!

This week, our crew began installing LP® Staggered Shake siding as a gable accent around the home. This engineered wood siding comes primed and is available in a variety of styles, giving homeowners the look of natural cedar shakes with the benefits of engineered wood.

Once painted, this accent is going to pop against the natural stone and the rest of the home’s siding! It’s always exciting to see our designer’s and clients’ vision start to come together. 🔨

🏡 Cabinets are installed in Lansing!

These white oak cabinets feature an almond stain that brings out the natural grain and beautiful textures of the wood. The cool tones add the perfect touch to this home’s design!

🧱 Mortar makes all the difference!

Yesterday, our masons filled in the mortar joints on the exterior stonework at our project in Blowing Rock!

This Sahara-colored mortar gets its lighter appearance from the use of white sand during the mixing process. This color complements the natural tones and textures of the stone, really making those beautiful accents stand out. 🏡

You'll work directly under our VP of Design turning concepts into buildable construction documents using Chief Architect. This is a full-time, on-site role with
room to build a real design career.

2+ years of CAD experience required (Chief Architect, AutoCAD, or Revit). Custom or high-end residential background preferred.

🔥 Fireplace parging! 🔥

This week, the masons were up in Lansing applying a parge coat to this modern fireplace. Once complete, this fireplace will be the centerpiece of the living room and kitchen, making a bold statement in the heart of the home!

🏠 Drywall is going in up in Blowing Rock!

Did you know drywall is made primarily from gypsum, a soft, light-colored mineral formed through the evaporation of ancient bodies of water? How neat is that! It's main ingredient is calcium sulfate dihydrate.

Here’s a fun local fact: the historic Locust Cove Mine near Saltville, Virginia, was one of the largest underground gypsum mining operations until it's closure in 1999. Today, much of the gypsum mined in the U.S. comes from states like Oklahoma, Iowa, Nevada, and Texas.
