Never mount a fan to a plastic electrical box without steel-reinforced ribs. 25-pound plastic boxes are not sturdy enough to handle attic heat and vibration from a ceiling fan. Only 100-pound boxes should be used for fans. This plastic box was not far from crashing down. When you call Handy Andy for a ceiling fan swap, you are getting knowledgeable service.
