🔧 Cracked Main Sewer Line? We Found It & Fixed It!

A camera inspection revealed a cracked fitting in the main sewer line underneath this home. Since the damage was below the house, our team at Bills Plumbing performed a small tunnel repair to get directly to the problem without unnecessary disruption.

We pulled the necessary permits, tunneled underneath the home, exposed the damaged piping, and got to work. As you can see in the photos, we cut out the damaged section and cracked fitting, installed a new fitting and section of PVC, and got everything flowing properly again. 💪

This is what tree roots can do to an underground drain line. 🌳🪠

Our excavation team dug beneath the driveway and exposed the problem: roots had completely invaded a fitting in the underground PVC line, creating a serious blockage.

Once we had it exposed, we removed the damaged/root-filled section, rebuilt the piping with new Schedule 40 PVC, and got the system back in service.

Jobs like this are a good reminder that the problem isn’t always where you can see it. Sometimes you have to get underground and find the real cause.

Another sewer issue fixed the right way. 🔧

We recently dug up this set of double cleanouts after the homeowner had been dealing with repeated stoppages in the sewer line.

Once we exposed the piping, we found the cause. Years ago, a 3-inch to 4-inch rubber band had been used to make the transition between the different pipe sizes. Over time, that connection stretched and allowed the piping to sag. That low spot began holding waste and water, which created the perfect place for recurring blockages to develop.

Instead of simply clearing the line again, we corrected the actual problem.

We removed the old cleanouts and affected piping, installed new 4-inch double cleanouts, and glued a proper 4x3 reducer bushing directly into the new fittings. This allowed us to run the 3-inch sewer pipe directly into the reducer and completely eliminate the old 3x4 rubber transition that had caused the problem.

We also used properly sized, heavy-duty shielded couplings on the new connections to provide a much stronger and more secure installation.

✅ Removed the sagging/problematic connection
✅ Installed new 4-inch double cleanouts
✅ Used a proper 4x3 reducer
✅ Eliminated the old oversized transition band
✅ Installed reinforced shielded couplings
✅ Restored proper alignment and flow

💧 WATER LEAK REPAIR | QUEST PIPE TO PEX 🔧

Today, Bill’s Plumbing came out to a customer’s home after the city notified them that they had a water leak occurring on the property.

Once we arrived, we pumped the water out of the meter box and excavated the surrounding area to locate the source of the leak. After digging everything up, we discovered old Quest piping that was leaking.

We went over the customer’s options, including a spot repair or a full line replacement. For now, the customer decided to move forward with the spot repair.

✅ Cut out the old leaking Quest pipe
✅ Installed new PEX piping
✅ Reconnected the water service to the home
✅ Reconnected the sprinkler system
✅ Restored the system and got everything back up and running

Today we responded to an emergency service call for a customer whose kitchen sink was leaking all over the floor due to severely deteriorated drain piping.

After diagnosing the issue, we:
