We’re busy planting soft landings around the 2 bur oak trees we donated to Prairie Village Park. What are soft landings you ask? They are diverse native plantings under keystone trees that provide critical habitat for pollinators and insects. So what is a keystone tree? As summer prepares to wind down, eastern monarch butterflies prepare for their journey south to overwintering grounds in the oyamel forests of Mexico. These beauties were observed nectaring on liatris in the Prairie Village Park garden this morning. (Photo credit -Dawn-Marie Staccia)

A great short video from Amy at Powers Plants about native gardens! We purposely designed the Prairie Village Park garden to show two ways to plant natives: an organized, intentional display garden with plant plugs and a seeded, natural Wisconsin native prairie. Come on out to our garden tour at the park on August 2nd from 11-2 to learn more.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
