A 76-year-old Rochester, Minnesota homeowner is facing a felony charge after allegedly threatening to kill a roofing contractor during a dispute over the final payment for a roofing project.

According to court documents, the homeowner became hostile when the roofer brought up an outstanding balance. He allegedly told his wife to get a gun, walked toward a closet, and began a countdown, prompting the contractor to flee.

Police say the homeowner continued making threats during a phone conversation with an officer and even after police arrived at his residence.

The man was arrested and charged with felony threats.
