We service, repair, and install hurricane shutters, impact windows & doors.

Leading company in servicing all hurricane accordion shutters, roll downs, and impact glass doors

10/13/2026

Key Biscayne condo owners: this year DreamGuard finished 157 jobs on the island. Most were in the towers on Crandon Boulevard. Wheels that stopped rolling, locks that stopped catching and new accordion shutters. Salt air is hard on shutter parts, so we see the same few problems again and again, and we know how to fix them. If your shutters stick or won't lock, we can take a look.

If you live in a condo, the balcony is the opening that does the most work. Sliders and balcony doors are the largest pieces of glass in most South Florida units and they take wind straight off the water. They are also the last thing most people think about. Accordion shutters handle a balcony cleanly. They stay mounted at the sides of the opening, they fold flat against the wall the rest of the year and they close by hand along a track. Nothing to store, nothing to carry up an elevator. Hurricane season runs through November 30 and there is still room on the schedule, so this is a good stretch to get it handled without rushing. If you are not sure what your unit needs, ask for the Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment. A technician checks every window, door and slider and leaves you a written picture of what is protected and what to fix first. No cost, no pressure. We work in high-rise buildings across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, and we handle the permits and the final inspection as part of the job. Twenty years, licensed Florida Certified General Contractor CGC 1536894.

Twenty years in, we still treat every home the same way. This is our crew doing what they do best. Every install starts with a clean plan and ends with a clean job site. The team measures twice, anchors everything to spec and walks you through how everything works before leaving. That last part matters more than people think. A shutter only protects your home if you know how to use it. The same family has run this company since 2005, and it shows in the work. If you want a look at where your own home stands, the Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment is the easiest place to start. A tech checks every window, door, garage and slider and leaves you a written picture of what is protected and what to fix first. Free and no pressure, in English or Spanish. DreamGuard serves Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. Licensed Florida Certified General Contractor CGC 1536894.

If your roll-down shutter hums but does not move, the motor is telling you something. Motorized roll-downs are the easiest shutters to live with. One button and the house is protected. But the motor is the part that works the hardest, and it usually gives warning signs before it quits. A hum with no movement. A shutter that crawls slower than it used to. One side dropping faster than the other. Any of those means it is time for a service visit, on your schedule instead of a stormy week. DreamGuard repairs and replaces shutter motors across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, and we check the whole system while we are there, tracks and moving parts included. If you are not sure what shape your shutters are in, start with the Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment. A tech checks every opening and every existing shutter and puts it all in writing. Free, no pressure, English or Spanish.

Plan hurricane protection in the right order. Most homeowners start by pricing one product. The better first step is knowing which opening on your home is the weakest, because Florida's wind mitigation rating is set by the weakest opening, not the strongest. Fix in that order and every dollar works harder. Step one, get the Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment. A tech checks every opening and ranks what to fix first, in writing. Step two, fix the weakest openings before upgrading the strong ones. Step three, ask your insurance agent whether wind mitigation credits apply to your policy, the assessment report gives you something concrete to discuss. No pressure either way. DreamGuard is a licensed Florida Certified General Contractor, CGC 1536894, serving South Florida for 20 years across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

Doors are openings too. When homeowners think about hurricane protection they picture windows, but the two largest openings on most homes are doors. The garage door is the biggest single opening on the house. Entry doors and sliding glass doors are next. If a large opening fails in a storm, wind pressure enters the house, which is why Florida's wind mitigation rating counts every opening and is set by the weakest one. DreamGuard installs new impact doors, including entry doors and sliders, designed for South Florida conditions, and we protect garage and slider openings as part of a complete shutter plan. Not sure where your home stands? The Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment covers every opening, doors and garage included, and leaves you a written list of what is protected and what to fix first. Free, no pressure, in English or Spanish.

A 4.9-star rating across more than 250 Google reviews. That number is not a slogan. It is 20 years of South Florida homeowners grading our work, one project at a time. Here is what we do on every job to keep it that way. We show up when we say we will. We protect your floors and your home while we work. We anchor every shutter and every window to spec, because a product is only as good as its installation. And we do not leave until you know how to operate everything we installed. DreamGuard is a licensed Florida Certified General Contractor, CGC 1536894, fully insured, serving Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, including Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Key Biscayne and Aventura. If you are comparing companies, read the reviews, ours and everyone else's. Then start with our Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment. A tech checks every opening in your home and leaves you a written picture of what is protected and what to fix first. Free, no pressure, English or Spanish.

Impact windows 101, the honest version. An impact window is laminated glass in a reinforced frame, made to resist windborne debris. It is always on. There are no panels to put up and no tracks to maintain. Hurricane shutters protect an opening only when you close them, but they usually cost less per opening. Neither answer is right for every home. It depends on your openings, your budget and how the house is used. One thing is not optional in Miami-Dade and Broward. Products used here must carry a Notice of Acceptance for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. Ask for it on any product you are quoted, from anyone. DreamGuard installs new impact windows and impact doors and also sells, services and repairs hurricane shutters, so we can walk you through both options without pushing either one. The Free Hurricane Vulnerability Assessment is the easiest place to start.
