Turnbull Nursery Garden Center has been a part of the Western New York growing industry since the late 1800's. A family owned and operated business, Turnbull Nursery is now run by the third and fourth generation Turnbull (with the fifth generation already taking a great interest!)

Primarily a wholesale grower of quality horticulture products such as shade an

d flowering trees, small fruits and ornamental shrubs and vines, we opened a retail garden center in 1991. We provide a general line of landscape plants with the same high quality as our wholesale division. In fact, many of our goods sold are grown in our fields in the Town of Brant, Erie County, WNY. We believe our Garden Center is unique because we can offer the public something that very few, if any, other garden center can......Bareroot plants. Bareroot planting is the way our fathers before us did it and it is how the wholesale nursery industry still does it! Turnbull's is open Mon-Fri 9-4 and Sat 9-12 During September. We will be closed on Monday for Labor Day and then we will close for the season on October 1st. Don't delay in getting your plants today!

A new crop of Dolgo Crabapple Trees has just arrived. A beautiful white flowering crab that gets 35-40' tall and 25-30' wide. The larger 1.5" fruit makes excellent jelly 😋! This tree is also widely used for food plots to feed wildlife 🦌. The trees are 7' tall right now in a 10 gallon pot for $110 each. Limited quantities available.

In observance of the July 4th holiday, Turnbull Nursery will be closed July 3rd, 4th and 5th. We will resume summer hours on July 6th of Mon-Fri 9-4 and Saturday 9-12. Appointments can be made for after hours.

💦 Are you watering properly during these hot days we are having? Water your plants with a nice slow, deep soaking. Put your hose at the base of your plant and turn it on to a light trickle....this will minimize run off and let the water get to the roots of the plant. Let it set there until the ground is saturated. If you use this technique, you can spread out the number of times you need to water in a week. Most plants in the ground like to see about an 1" of rain per week, so if we are not getting that, remember to water. If you are in doubt on if you should water again or not, pull the mulch back and stick your fingers into the ground. If it is cool and damp, you can hold off. If it is hot and dry, then water. Every situation is different, so when you water, you need to look at each plant to determine the correct amount. Newly planted items will always need more watering than established plants.

Starting Monday June 29th, our summer hours will be Mon-Fri 9-4, and Sat 9-12. We will be CLOSED July 3rd, 4th and 5th for the holiday weekend. After hours appointments can be made through the summer.

If you are picking up mulch, soul or compost, please call ahead to make sure we have someone here to load before driving out. Our loaders and equipment may be out on excavation jobs. Thank you!
