It was a great night coming together with other companies across CHS to support Hard Hats with Heart and promote workplace wellness and lifesaving training within our industry. This year, over $320,000 was raised for the American Heart Association to help improve cardiovascular health and wellness within the construction industry.

Thank you to our very own Blake Banks, Assistant VP of Operations and member of the Hard Hats with Heart Executive Leadership Team, for his continued involvement, and to Nurse Stephanie Brooks for all she continues to do for our team and the community she works so hard to serve. Thank you also to our Banks team, whose efforts year after year help support the AHA’s mission.

Another wonderful year of the Hard Hats with Heart campaign here in the Lowcountry, made possible by everyone involved!

Recently, Logistics Coordinator Gavin Dutterer, Logistics Manager Morgan Fitzgerald, and Ops Systems Manager Savannah Hathaway traveled to San Francisco for XBE Horizon 2026! 🌉

The conference brought together leaders from across the construction, heavy materials, and logistics industries to share ideas, explore new technology, and discuss ways to work smarter and more efficiently.

We're excited to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas back to Banks as we continue finding ways to improve how we operate and serve our customers!

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Dragon spacecraft from Cape Canaveral this morning. Dragon is on its way to resupply the International Space Station.

Quality Control Technician Bryan Hutto captured these shots as the rocket came into view from our North Charleston plant. You can see the “jellyfish effect” created when the rising sun lights up the rocket’s exhaust, along with the moment the rocket’s stages separated.

Thanks for sharing these, Bryan!

Recently, QC Technician Joshua Chambers prepared for and passed his SCDOT Roadway Certification. Josh started at Banks in April and is already growing in his role.

Within their first six months on the job, team members in our Quality Control Division put what they’ve learned in the field to the test through certification exams. These certifications help ensure we're delivering quality asphalt and finished products to all our customers.

“Josh worked extremely hard for his SCDOT Roadway Certification. He’s a great addition to Quality Control, and we couldn’t be more pleased.” Quality Control Division Manager – Randy Funderburg

We're proud of the hard work Josh has already put forth and excited to see where this path takes him in our industry.

Congratulations, Josh!
