When people see these old run-in sheds, they usually ask me: "What's your process for demoing a shed? Do you take it apart piece by piece, or do you just use a machine?"

I typically don't do a whole lot of hand demo unless it's a really small structure. The DIY process might seem straightforward, but manual teardowns are unpredictable and risky—falls alone cause millions of DIY injuries every year.

With the right machine, it easily takes care of it. First, I always make sure the power and water are turned off. Then, I pull off the lean-tos, tip the middle section over, and crush it into chunks small enough to fit in the trailer. Sometimes, if a pasture gate isn't big enough for the machine to get through, I can just pull the trailer right up to the fence and safely load the debris over it.

It completely changes the dynamic. Not only does it keep you out of harm's way, but professional removal also guarantees that the old materials are sorted, recycled, and responsibly disposed of.

We hear from customers who have had contractors complete a demolition project and leave debris behind on the site.

That can be frustrating. Now the customer has to call someone else to remove the remaining debris, and they may not know where those materials are going or whether they will be disposed of responsibly or have an opportunity to be reused.

Materials like the broken brick and cinder blocks shown in this photo don't necessarily have to go straight to a landfill. Depending on the material and its condition, they can be processed and reused for applications such as:

• Driveway and road base material
• Construction and aggregate fill
• Drainage and erosion-control applications
• Landscaping and hardscape projects
• Base material for patios and walkways
• Other non-structural construction applications

What makes Fall Line Reliable Services different is that we are environmentally conscious about what happens after the demolition is complete.

Responsible demolition isn't just about taking a structure down. It's also about planning for what happens to the materials afterward.

For property owners, contractors, and businesses throughout the CSRA who care about professional demolition work, cleanup, and responsible material handling, Fall Line Reliable Services is ready to help.

Before any heavy machinery interacts with a structure, conducting a comprehensive internal walkthrough is essential. This preliminary step serves two key purposes: confirming the interior contents and spotting potential environmental hazards.

Often, unoccupied or abandoned buildings hold forgotten items, from old furniture to various household belongings left by former residents. Teams must thoroughly inspect the property to find and dispose of any volatile materials.

To ensure a safe demolition, it is vital to confirm that pressurized containers, propane tanks, and gasoline jugs are removed from the site before any mechanical work begins.

Here is what goes into a professional, controlled demolition:

Crews remove the roof structure first, leaving the exterior walls standing. Those walls are then systematically pushed inward onto the building's footprint, keeping the debris contained and protecting the surrounding area.

Before a machine touches the structure, a thorough internal walkthrough is mandatory. The goal is to clear out forgotten items and ensure volatile materials—like propane tanks or stored gasoline jugs—are completely removed.

Demolition is also about resource recovery. Crews hand-pull copper wiring, brass fixtures, and pipes for recycling. Heavy masonry like brick is sorted into dedicated loads and sent to facilities to be crushed into aggregate gravel.

"We don't just dispose of it. We try to recycle, repurpose, & reuse anything we can."

Professional demolition isn't just about what comes down—it’s about how carefully you control the process from start to finish.
