Pressure-treated stair stringers will fail over time as water seeps into them where the deck boards are fastened. You can see here how the damage has compromised the structural integrity of the stairs.

We’re rebuilding this deck and using .lumber stair stringers because their ultra-durable, composite material is far stronger and lasts longer than pressure-treated wood ever could.

When attaching an addition to an existing home, we have to ensure that all roof line connections are waterproof. Using ice and water shield, J’d out kickout flashing and step flashing ensures that this vulnerable area stays dry.

In this video, you’ll see how we installed soffit vents that allow air to flow up through the baffles in the rafter bays and out through the ridge vent at the peak.

Properly venting a room like this prevents condensation build up on your insulation or ceiling and helps air to flow through the rafter bay to prevent ice dams.
