Aquatrace Leak Detection back at it again—tracking down another hidden pool leak.
The customer reported significant water loss from the pool (shown in the first photo) but was unsure of the cause. We began with dye testing the pool light and found a small leak, but it was not enough to explain the amount of water being lost.
We then pressure-tested the plumbing and found all lines held pressure except the deep-end return line. After removing the customer’s 3-way attachment, we dye-tested that return line. As shown in the first video, the dye is rapidly drawn into the fitting, indicating a crack in the return line.
To confirm the location of the break, we introduced tracer gas into the line and detected very high gas readings directly above the underground return line, confirming a break in that section.(As seen in the second video)
Another leak found, another pool one step closer to being swim-ready 🙂
