The Kwikset Smartkey mechanical locks have an exponenetially higher failure rate than the standard Kwikset pin tumbler style. In fact, one of my lock suppliers stopped stocking the replacement key cylinders because of a high failure rate. I work with these locks regularly. They’re nice because you can rekey them yourself and avoid calling a locksmith. On the other hand, they corrode easily and lose their combinations. Buy Kwikset, but insist on the pin tumbler style. Ask the guy or gal at Lowe’s or Home Depot to help you with your selection.

Your builder seldom finishes your deadbolt installation. That means your door isn’t locking properly or securely. You can fix it easily.

Use a 3/8 inch drill bit to drill out the wood in the center of the strike plate. The hole must be one inch deep for your deadbolt to lock properly and to avoid eventual damage to the bolt.

Then, check the length of the strike plate screws, replacing the screws with longer ones (2.5 inches).

The most excellent road-rage takedown of all time!

So, this woman is a brilliant thinker. The kind of woman who takes you into dangerous neighborhoods in South American nations where wealthy Yankees aren't welcome just to broaden her children's tastes for unique cuisine. Who tells you, "I want to sit facing the door, so I can see the guy who comes in and shoots us." A woman whose material Johnny Carson once used on his show. Jokes she destroyed because, "When I die, I don't want anybody knowing I wrote this stuff! And yes, I repented."

While driving on University Drive in Davie, Florida, this Eighty-one-year-old woman accidentally cut in front of two guys. The truck came up beside her, and both guys flipped her the bird. The woman raised her brows, put on a huge smile, nodded vigorously, and mouthed the words, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Nod, nod, nod. Smile, smile, smile.

The two road ragers' eyes grew two sizes too large, and their mouths dropped open. Then they laughed hysterically.

Road rage defused.

And The woman’s solution for flashers? She recommends pointing and laughing.
