Just a friendly FYI for anyone planning to install a new fence or replace an existing one in the City of Bloomington.
The City has updated portions of its fence regulations over the past couple of years, including rules regarding where fences can be placed, height requirements, approved materials in certain situations, and restrictions involving easements, visibility, and utilities.
As a local fencing company, we’re happy to answer questions and help make sure your new fence is both beautiful and compliant with city regulations.
⚠️ Keep in mind: Fences that don’t comply with the City’s regulations will result in code enforcement action, including notices to correct the issue, fines, and having to modify or remove the fence at the property owner’s expense. Permits are important to protect the homeowner!
