Midges vs. mosquitoes. Midges look mosquito like and have a lot of the same build. However midges do not bite. They swarm and love light as do mosquitoes. Some of the swarms that may be on your property are midges and not mosquitoes. Here are pics of both. Notice midges do not have the biting nose like mosquitoes.
