Before you pick your cabinet hardware, watch this.

DOS:
✅ Match your hardware finish to at least one other metal in the room (faucet, light fixture, appliances). Cohesion is everything.
✅ Size your pulls proportionally. Larger drawers need longer pulls, typically 1/3 the width of the drawer.
✅ Go soft-close on every hinge and drawer. You’ll thank yourself every single day.
✅ Consider finish durability. Matte black and brushed nickel hide fingerprints far better than polished chrome.

DON’TS:
❌ Don’t mix more than two metal finishes in one space. Three or more starts to feel chaotic.
❌ Don’t skip hardware on lower cabinets to “save money.” It affects function and resale value.
❌ Don’t choose hardware based on the showroom display alone. Hold it, feel the weight, imagine opening it 10 times a day.

Luxury vinyl plank is our go-to recommendation for most pet households. It’s scratch resistant, completely waterproof, and holds up to nail clicks and accidents without missing a beat. Hardwood can still work, just go with a harder wood species and a durable finish so those scratches don’t show up as fast. Carpet is the toughest sell for pet owners (it holds onto smells and stains longer than anything else), but a stain resistant option in a high traffic area can still be the right call depending on the room.

The real question isn’t just “what’s pet friendly,” it’s what fits your specific pet, your household, and the room you’re working with. That’s exactly the kind of conversation we love having in the showroom

Carpet gets a bad reputation. Usually because people install the wrong kind.

DOS:
✅ Choose a higher density carpet for high-traffic areas. Density matters more than thickness.
✅ Use a quality pad underneath. The pad affects comfort, durability, and how long your carpet actually lasts.
✅ Consider stain-resistant treatments, especially if you have kids or pets. Worth every penny.
✅ Think about fiber type. Nylon is the most durable. Polyester is softer and more budget-friendly. Know what you’re trading.

DON’TS:
❌ Don’t install carpet in moisture-prone areas like basements without proper subfloor prep. Mold is not a renovation story you want to tell.
❌ Don’t judge carpet by touch alone in the store. Ask about the twist count and face weight.
❌ Don’t go too light in color for busy households. Beautiful in the showroom, stressful in real life.
❌ Don’t skip professional installation to cut costs. Poor seams and bad stretching will show within months.
