🐞 ASIAN BEETLES ARE COMING — NOW IS THE TIME TO TREAT & PREVENT! 🐞

As temperatures begin to cool, Asian lady beetles start looking for a warm, protected place to spend the winter…and unfortunately, your home may be exactly what they’re looking for! 🏠

You may notice them gathering on sunny sides of your house, around windows, doors, siding, and other entry points. Once they find their way inside wall voids and attics, they can spend the winter there and suddenly start appearing indoors on warm, sunny days.

👉 That’s why NOW is the time to treat — before they move in!

A preventative exterior treatment can help reduce the number of Asian beetles making their way into your home this fall. But treatment is only part of the prevention!

🔨 SEAL THEM OUT!
Take a walk around your home and check for possible entry points:
• Seal cracks and gaps around windows and doors
• Replace damaged weather stripping
• Check screens for holes or tears
• Seal gaps around utility lines, pipes, vents, and siding
• Look for openings around soffits, fascia, and rooflines

Asian beetles can squeeze through surprisingly small openings. Combining an exterior pest treatment with properly sealing your home provides the best defense against unwanted fall visitors.

Don’t wait until you have beetles crawling across your windows and ceilings!

🦗 Are Crickets Causing More Than Just an Annoying Noise? 🦗

That nonstop chirping might be the first thing you notice—but crickets can become more than just a noisy nuisance when they make their way inside your home!

Crickets may:
🏠 Sneak inside through cracks, gaps, doors, and windows
👕 Damage fabrics, clothing, carpet, and stored items
🍞 Be attracted to food crumbs and other organic material
🕷️ Attract spiders and other predators looking for an easy meal
🥚 Find protected areas where they can stick around longer than you'd like

As temperatures begin to change, crickets may start looking for shelter indoors—making late summer and fall a great time to make sure your home is protected.

At Chilton’s Environmental Termite & Pest Control, we can help identify where crickets are getting in and provide treatment to help keep them—and other unwanted pests—out.

🦟 Found ONE Flea? Don’t Ignore It! 🐾

Seeing just one flea in your home may not seem like a big deal—but there’s a good chance it isn’t alone!

A single adult flea can lay dozens of eggs per day, and those tiny eggs can fall into your carpet, furniture, pet bedding, and cracks around your home. Before you know it, one flea can turn into a much bigger problem.

⚠️ Why call Chilton’s at the first sign of fleas?

🐾 Fleas reproduce quickly
🏠 Eggs and larvae can hide throughout your home
🐶🐱 Pets can continually bring fleas back inside
😖 Flea bites can be irritating for both people and pets
🔄 Treating only the fleas you see may not break the entire life cycle

At Chilton’s Environmental Termite & Pest Control, we can help get the problem under control before a few fleas become a full-blown infestation.

🦟 Are Mosquitoes Still Active in Late Summer? YES!

It may feel like summer is winding down, but mosquito season isn’t over just yet! In fact, late summer can still bring plenty of mosquito activity, especially when warm temperatures and standing water stick around.

Mosquitoes can remain active well into the fall, until cooler temperatures and the first hard freezes finally slow them down.

A few ways to keep mosquitoes from taking over your backyard:

💧 Empty standing water from buckets, flowerpots, toys, birdbaths, and other containers.
🌿 Keep grass and vegetation trimmed around your home.
🍂 Clear away damp leaves and yard debris where mosquitoes can rest.
🦟 Consider professional mosquito treatments to help reduce populations around your property.

Don’t give mosquitoes the last few weeks of summer! Chilton’s Environmental Termite & Pest Control can help you enjoy your backyard with fewer unwanted guests.

🕷️ Seeing More Spiders Around Your Home? You’re Not Alone!

Late summer and early fall can bring an increase in spider sightings around your home. You may notice webs near doorways, windows, porches, garages, basements, and exterior lights.

Why now? 🕸️

As the seasons begin to change, spiders are more active, and many are following their food source — other insects! If you’re seeing a lot of spiders, it could also be a sign that there are plenty of other pests around your home for them to feed on.

A few ways to help:
🏡 Keep bushes and vegetation trimmed away from the house
💡 Reduce unnecessary outdoor lighting that attracts insects
🧹 Remove webs around doors, windows, and eaves
📦 Reduce clutter in garages, basements, and storage areas
🐜 Keep up with regular pest control to reduce the insects spiders are feeding on

At Chilton’s Environmental Termite & Pest Control, we don’t just look at the spiders — we help address the pest activity that may be attracting them in the first place.

🐾 Is Your Dog Bringing In More Than Muddy Paws? 🐾

After a day of exploring the yard, your pup might come inside with more than a little dirt! 🐶🌿 Fleas and ticks can hitch a ride on your pets—and sometimes end up making themselves at home in your house.

🔎 Watch for these signs:
• Excessive scratching, licking, or biting at their skin
• Red, irritated skin or small scabs
• Tiny dark specks in their fur (often called “flea dirt”)
• Ticks attached around the ears, neck, legs, or between the toes
• Restlessness or unusual grooming
• Fleas jumping or crawling on bedding, furniture, or carpet

Regularly checking your pets is important, but don't forget about the yard! Treating outdoor areas where fleas and ticks live can help reduce the chances of your four-legged family members bringing unwanted guests inside.

At Chilton’s Environmental Termite & Pest Control, we can help treat your yard for fleas and ticks so your family—and your pets—can enjoy the outdoors with fewer pests. 🏡🐕❤️
