🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Mark Scott Homes! 🍀

They say the Irish have the luck… but we think great craftsmanship helps too.

This Notre Dame cottage we recently completed has a subtle (and pretty fun) nod to the holiday—custom mosaic tile spelling out “IRISH” right at the sink. A small detail that makes a big impression, especially in a home full of thoughtful design.

It’s these kinds of personal touches that turn a house into something meaningful—something that tells a story.

Whether you're celebrating with family, friends, or just enjoying a quiet moment at home, we hope your day is filled with a little luck and a lot of comfort.

And if you look closely… maybe a bit of Irish pride under your feet too. 😉

There’s something special about a dining room that brings everyone together.

This space was designed to feel bright, welcoming, and connected to the rest of the home. The tall ceilings, classic chandelier, and soft natural light create a setting that feels both elegant and comfortable—perfect for everything from holiday dinners to slow Sunday mornings.

One of our favorite details is how the dining room opens directly into the kitchen. It keeps the home feeling connected and makes it easy for family and guests to gather naturally.

And if you look closely through the doors, you’ll catch a glimpse of the outdoor space beyond—because in Southwest Michigan, we believe great homes should blur the line between inside and outside living.

Homes like this remind us that while beautiful design matters, the real purpose of a home is the moments that happen inside it.

What meal would you host here first?

When the sun goes down…
this home lights up.

Walls of glass.
Hand-cut stone.
A curved great room designed to frame the water like artwork.

From the lakeside patio to the glowing interior balconies, every detail was built to capture the view — and hold it.

This isn’t just a lake house.
It’s a front-row seat to every sunrise, every storm, every sunset.

We don’t just build homes.
We build places you never want to leave.

French Country Charm in Southwest Michigan

There’s something timeless about French Country design.

The soft white brick.
The warm wood front doors.
The arched entry welcoming you home.
The glow from the windows at dusk.

This Southwest Michigan custom home blends European elegance with Midwestern comfort — refined, but never fussy. The dormers add character. The black windows create contrast. And that inviting front porch? It practically asks you to slow down.

We love homes like this because they don’t chase trends.
They age well.
They feel warm.
They feel lived in — even when brand new.

Built with intention. Designed for gathering. Crafted to last.

This is what happens when classic architecture meets quality craftsmanship.

What’s your favorite detail — the arched entry or those dormers? 👇

We make it hard to leave home.

Designed to blur the line between indoors and endless blue.
Steel cable railings for unobstructed views.
Warm wood decking underfoot.
Morning coffee at the window bar.
Sunsets that stop conversations.

This isn’t just a beach house.
It’s a daily reminder of why craftsmanship matters.

Built with intention.
Built to last.
Built for the view.

Bunk rooms + lake homes = a love story that never gets old.

In lake living, it’s not about how many bedrooms you have—it’s about how many memories you can fit under one roof. Bunk rooms have become a must-have because they turn weekends into sleepovers, cousins into best friends, and “just one more night” into a standard request.

They’re efficient, cozy, and unapologetically fun. Built-ins keep things tidy, durable materials handle sandy feet and wet swimsuits, and everyone gets a spot to crash after long days on the water.

This is lake life done right: practical design that makes it easy to host the people you love most. And yes… the kids will fight over the top bunk. Every time.
