Here are some ways you can help us truly improve the cleanliness of your home, stay on task, keep to your budget and our service fee agreed on, stay within our timeline allotted for your home:
🏠 Before the Cleaning
Declutter surfaces and floors (toys, shoes, clothes, papers, dishes)
•Cleaners clean — they don’t pickup unless agreed beforehand
•Secure valuables, cash, medications, and important documents.
Consider putting away fragile or irreplaceable items
•Provide clear instructions for priorities or problem areas
🐶 Pets
•Inform the cleaner about pets ahead of time
•Confirm pets are safe and won’t interfere
•Secure aggressive, anxious, or escape-prone animals
•Clean up pet accidents beforehand if possible
•Provide instructions if pets will be present
🚪 Access & Arrival
•Provide reliable entry (key, code, lockbox, or be home)
•Disable alarms or share instructions
•Ensure parking is available
•Communicate if you’ll be home or away or anyone else in the home at any point in th cleaning
🧹 During the Cleaning
•Give space to work (hovering can slow things down)
•If you’re able to leave during their cleaning this is ideal for the cleaners flow and focus
•Avoid micromanaging — trust the professional
•Keep children out of work areas for safety
•Don’t add extra tasks last minute without discussing cost/time
•Maintain reasonable expectations for time booked
💬 Communication
•Be clear, polite, and respectful
•Give feedback constructively — not passive-aggressively
•Notify of cancellations as early as possible
•Inform them of anything broken or not working
💵 Payment Etiquette
•Please pay immediately upon completion or as soon as possible thereafter. Having cleaners wait more than 24 hours for compensation of completed services creates concern and an awkward avoidable chase for collection
•Don’t negotiate price after the job is done
•Cleaning shall not exceed agreed upon timeframe and effort or additional compensation will apply
•Tip if service was excellent (not always required, but appreciated)
•Understand deep cleans cost more than maintenance cleans and will need to be scheduled in advance to plan accordingly
🔐 Privacy & Respect
•Avoid surveillance in private areas without disclosure
•Don’t test or monitor the cleaner in deceptive ways
•Respect their time — no unpaid “quick extras”
•Keep personal boundaries (they are workers, not guests)
