Hello friends and Neighbors!!

Helping my community save on their Plumbing bills and showing off my Plumbing skills.

I went out to a child's daycare center in Naperville.

He wanted me to camera, the sewer. But unfortunately my camera just broke at the time. So told him I have I to come back and do it another time.

The last plumbers they had in there just used a JR. rod.

To get the line open.

I think with a bigger cable you can also stick a bigger cutter through there to help chew up whatever is stuck in there.

More satisfied clients and happy customers is why I have 100% positive reviews on my five star Facebook reviews and I'm a Google Business review page.

With Wagner's Water Works

Hello Friends and Neighbors!!

Another opportunity to show off my Plumbing skills.

With a name like Wagner's Water Works!!

You know you're going to get exceptional and outstanding plumbing services.

And help my community save on their Plumbing bills.

I went out to the South side of Chicago yesterday.

The homeowner had a handyman remodeling the bathroom.

And the person that was there before him fixing up the bathroom.

Didn't know how to take the old Chrome tubular pipe out of the cast iron T pipe behind the wall that was leaded into the cast iron T behind the wall for the lavatory sink.

Both handyman had no clue how to take the connection out.

Back in the day probably the early 1900s they used to lead the chrome tubular pipe into the cast iron pipe to hook up the lavatory sink.

It was probably done so that the plumber didn't have to carry around a lot of inch and a half galvanized ni***es.

Before the cast iron T was installed vertically in the wall for the lavatory sink the plumber laid the cast iron T down on the floor and packed some Oakham around the chrome pipe and poured lead around it.

To make a water tight connection for the bathroom sink p-trap.

Most handyman don't have a clue on how to remove the lead out of the fitting.

You have to cut the chrome tubular pipe flush with the wall.

Then you have to get a small sawzall blade and notch out two different sections in the lead fitting.

Then you gently have to get a hammer and screwdriver and pound out the lead at different points around the cast iron fitting So eventually the lead will pop out of place.

And then after getting all the lead out of there it's always a good idea to take a metal wire brush and clean out the cast iron T to remove all the rust and dust that's been sitting there for a hundred years or so when you screw the inch and a half PVC male adapter so it will get a good connection and not leak.

Then you have to take an inch and a half Street PVC adapter and glue that into the inch and a half PVC male adapter.

Then you can connect a inch and a quarter pvc p trap into that.

I also installed the lavatory pop up assembly for him.

I use the new and improved pop-up assemblies that have less parts to them and are easier to operate for the convenience my clients and my pop-up assemblies also have a hair catcher in them so my clients can clean out the pop-up assembly from up top of the sink.

So there'll be less likely to call the plumber up to have the bathroom sink roded.

I also had to send a cable though the drain cuz, it was clogged up with so much junk in there.

More satisfied clients.

I also had to go out to Brookfield Illinois and rod out a sewer.

That was a little bit of a challenge because I had stick different cutters on the machine to get the line to open. The sewer did not want to open up easily.

But the client was very happy because he gave me a tip.

Just like I enjoy giving my customers tips on how to save money.

I do it for the outcome of pleasing all my friends and neighbors that choose to use me for there plumbing services.

I charged $250 to unclog tubs and sinks.

You will always be blessed and never be stressed when you use Wagner's Water Works.

With over 25 years of plumbing services.

I've been doing this forever..

And I worked for most of all the national Big chain plumbing companies.

I've learned many things.

That the owners keep getting richer and greedier.

And the big plumbing companies work there workers into the ground.

Generally most men that work for big plumbing companies are burned out because they have to work so many long hours every single day so they can't put in high quality work because these workers are so tired most days.

Well you always see me put a thousand percent in.

Because I don't work long hours from sun up to sundown. So I won't take shortcuts.

I will be the last plumber you ever choose for all your pump needs.

I have a 2-year guarantee on all the pumps I install parts and labor.

Hello friends and Neighbors!

Another day to show off my Plumbing skills and help my wonderful community save on their Plumbing bills.

Daren Wagner
With the name like Wagner's Water Works you know you're going to get high quality plumbing service.

A client called me out in Vernon hills.
And wanted a new frost freeze spigot installed the other one broke and cracked in the wall.

That generally happens if you forget to disconnect the hose during the winter.

Because, frost freeze spigots have the washer buried behind the wall.

About 1 ft behind the brick wall.

So if you don't disconnect the hose all that water will sit inside the pipe & inside the wall.

And once the garden hose gets cold it will transfer the Frozen temperatures inside the pipe and the pipe inside the wall will eventually burst.
So this is why you must disconnect the hose during the winter time or when cold weather is predicted.

So this time he wanted an isolation valve installed right before the spigot on the inside of the ceiling of the basement.

I told him that would be very smart.

Because if this ever happens again he could shut the water off to the spigot and still have water running inside the house until the plumber comes and replaces the spigot.

As you can see I installed a half inch ball valve ProPress style and I used a half inch female adapter to wind a ProPress fitting on to the spicket.

That way in the future if you ever have to replace the spigot you can just unwind the spigot from outside and wind a new spigot in the same place in order to replace it.

ProPress fittings are great.
It's basically the new goldstandard in plumbing nowadays.

It's a safer way of connecting pipes versus a torch.

That way you don't have to worry about burning down the House or subjecting yourself to fire when soldering the pipe together.

It's a very quick method to get the job done and once you crimp the pipe together.

You know there will be no leaks because the fittings have an o-ring built inside that prevents water from coming out of the pipe.

As you can see, I use the ball valves that are marked on and off so the clients know exactly which way to turn the valve.

I know this client was very happy with me after I was finished with the job.

He actually hugged me before I left.

Wow, I knew I was doing some great service, but that's what I call customer πŸ’―β€οΈπŸ‘€πŸ€”πŸ€·β˜οΈπŸ‘€πŸ˜πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

After shutting the water down to his house to install the isolation valve.

I probably had his water back onto his house within about 15-20 minutes.

That's what I love about Pro press tools and fittings everything goes seamless and without any flaws.

The pro press fittings are much more expensive.

But sometimes they're really worth it.

I know more than I want to know in the plumbing business.

Just keeping it Real!!

With 100% positive feedback on my five star reviews on Facebook and 100% positive feedback on my Google business page.

I'm going to keep doing what my customers love me to do, stay friendly recommend great Plumbing tips to them and tell everybody about the Goodness of God.

After all I'm on a mission from God!!

I've been doing Plumbing for over 30 years.
I've worked for all the big plumbing companies.
All the big plumbing companies have one thing in common.
They're greedy and work their workers like slaves from sun up to sundown and they make them work on commission, so most plumbers have to sell more plumbing jobs or they won't make any money.

I don't strictly do this for the income. I also do it for the outcome.

Helping my community save money, is always a great feeling.
It feels like, you made a great choice when choosing a plumbing contractor.

"GO WITH THE FLOW AND CALL THE PRO"

I'll get all your prayers answered and all those unclean spirits out of your life and out of your pipes.

I'll send all those plumbing problems right down the drain back to where they belong to the pits of the sewer.

I will be the last plumber you choose for all your pump needs.

And I also have sump pumps that have Wi-Fi built into them so you can monitor the pump and be notified of any problems before they may arise.

The Wi-Fi pumps come with at 5-year manufacturer warranty and they are half horsepower and they have self-diagnosis units built into them and can be monitored by your smartphone.

I always use clear check valves on all my ejector pumps and sump pumps.

By using Clear check valves.
Well there are two good reasons.
One you can find out if your pump is working properly by looking inside the discharge pipe and seeing if there's water going through it.

And the other reason is you always want to make sure the flapper is working properly inside the check valve.

Because check valves can break and the flapper can dislodge and come loose over time.

So by making sure the flappers are working properly you decrease the chance of, not knowing about the malfunctioning check valve.

And that way there's much less of a likely chance of the water backing up from the city sewer and into your basement because of a malfunctioning check valve.

I also install only silent check valves.

That way if there's anybody living downstairs they don't have to hear that loud clunk all the time when the pump shuts on and off.

I have a 2-year guarantee on my pumps parts and labor.

I have a 5-year guarantee on all my below ground Plumbing.

And I have a one year guarantee on all my Plumbing.

Hello friends and Neighbors!!

Another day to show off my Plumbing skills and help my community save on their Plumbing bills.

I had to go out to Ferguson's but this time it's not the plumbing industry.

Apparently Ferguson invest a lot into many different businesses.

Just to keep their portfolio open with many business opportunities and to keep their shareholders happy.

This particular Warehouse I went to stocks inventories for office supplies.

They informed me that the private office toilet was not flushing properly.

So when I first looked at it it was obviously the toilet lever was broken and need to be replaced.

I like using Korky toilet levers.
The strong arm series is the best and they have one particular lever they make that you can install on right handled and left handled toilet levers.

After I replaced the lever, I realized that the toilet was used so rarely.
Well, the gasket on the flush valve infused with the flush valve and it was making it almost impossible to flush the toilet.

So luckily I had a mansfield toilet gasket on me.

And I replaced the gasket also known as the toilet flapper and the problem solved with the sticking handle.

Then they had another toilet in the woman's bathroom.

It was not flushing properly but that's only because somebody didn't set the fill valve at the proper height.
So the fill valve was not allowing enough water into the tank for a good flush.

So I just adjusted the fill valve and didn't charge the client any money for that toilet.

They also informed me that one of their bathrooms had a bad smell.

So after looking inside the floor drain I realized there was no water in the floor drain.

If the floor drain is not used periodically it can dry up and cause bad smells in the public bathrooms.

So I just recommended throwing a bucket of water down there a couple times a year.

I also had to change a diaphragm in the men's urinal.
Also known as a Sloan flush valve.

The first diaphragm I put in there did not work properly.
I mean you always have to tweak the diaphragm after you put it into the flush valve.

Another words, you have to flush the toilet handle down a bunch of times to get it to engage properly into the diaphragm.
But this diaphragm did not want to play nice.

So I just decided to put another diaphragm and stop playing me nice guy with the Sloan urnail valve.

So I had to get a new one and try that one out.

Mission accomplished.

Plumbing is never easy, everything bad that you cannot expect to happen in plumbing.

Will always happen, the way you don't want it to happen.

This job was in Tinley Park IL, about an hour away from my house.

Which is generally the furthest I will travel for a job.
But, I enjoy traveling, after all fixing toilets makes happy butts & happy people.

Hello friends and Neighbors!!

Time to help my community save on their Plumbing bills and show off my Plumbing skills..

Daren Wagner your local Friendly plumber.

I had a repeat client call me up from Schaumburg. He said he had a handyman installed his ejector pump.

Apparently his handyman wasn't so handy after all.

Because the pump was not working properly.

It was a big mess when I got out there turd and f***s and who knows what else was all over the floor.

He said he paid the handyman $250 to install the ejector pump.

The handyman didn't even bother cutting the vents out so we can pull the lid off in order to make sure he installed the pump properly and the switch was not leaning against the wall during the pump operation.

So I cut the vent out of the way in order to install the pump properly.

When I pulled the pump out I discovered that he installed the check valve on upside down.

A check valve on a ejector pump is essential it only allows the pump discharge pipe to pump one way.

The check valve has a flapper in it and prevents any water from the city sewer from backing up into his basement and into the ejector pump pit.

I'm not even sure what type of check valve you put in there but he not only put it an upside down but he put in a check valve that's most likely used for water pressure systems inside houses.

It just goes to show you don't use handyman for plumbing.

There are so many tricks of the trade and Plumbing.

And if you don't know plumbing codes well or you haven't been doing Plumbing as long as I have for over 30 years.

You will end up doing the plumbing job wrong.

The fact is he installed a check valve on top of a check valve that was already installed on the discharge pipe.

So he did not have a clue on what he was doing. There's no reason why you have to install two check valves on one ejector pump discharge pipe.

Handyman are completely incompetent when it comes to doing Plumbing.

He was very and extremely pleased that I was able to fix the problem and the pump didn't have to be replaced.

Hello friends and Neighbors!!

Another day to save my community on their Plumbing bills and give them some helpful Plumbing tips.

I had to Chicago a couple days ago.

The client informed me there was a water leak somewhere near his shower stall.

Generally what I do in those type of situations.

Unless the customer wants me to open up the wall or ceiling downstairs.

I usually always start with opening up the shower plate behind the shower handle.

A lot of times the shower cartridge will start leaking from the o-ring and will drip behind the wall.

Well, as soon as I took the plate off it looked very moist and it even looked like it's been dripping because behind the wall was very wet.

I'm not a big fan of khloer shower faucets I'm definitely not a fan of Kohler toilets.

Just because Kohler toilets are generally temperamental and usually you always have to tweak them before you put the part in or after you put the part in on a kholer toilet.

Well at least they're shower faucets are better made.

This particular shower faucet was very easy to take apart.

Which is usually unheard of when it comes to taking a shower handle off in order to get to the cartridge.

A lot of shower handles get stuck on there so good you have to take a band saw or oscillating saw to cut them off.

Most faucets like Kohler, Delta, American standard, have a separate pressure balancing spool.

And generally it sits right next to the shower cartridge.

Moen is the only shower faucet cartridge that is made into one piece.

One piece meaning the pressure balancing spool and cartridge is built into one.

Generally saves the client money and time when the plumber has to deal with a Moen shower faucet cartridge.

In this particular case only the cartridge had to be replaced because the client was not having any problems with the water pressure or temperature coming out of it.

So I replaced the cartridge and it came with a new o-ring which was no good on the last cartridge which is why it was leaking behind the wall.

Always remember most manufacturers for shower faucets always recommend you to run the shower faucet at least once a month.

To keep the pressure balances spool running properly that way you'll get equal amounts of hot and cold water coming out at the same time in the shower faucet.

Also keep in mind that Kohler has a minimum of three different cartridges for their shower faucets.

So there's a good chance if you have a Kohler shower faucet the plumber won't have the right cartridge for it on his truck..

That's why I always recommend Moen shower faucets.

But, clients tell me from time to time that the Kohler shower faucets look more elegant.

So they do bring up a good point.

After that the client wanted me to replace his toilet.

He wanted a new American standard champion five toilet.

Actually this toilet came with a foam liner on the inside of the tank.

Generally foamed liners on the inside of the tank are when you have well water.

Because well water is so cold when it comes out of the ground because the water is coming from such a deep level in the ground.

So anytime you have very cold water coming into your house your toilet tanks can't perspire and start to drip and constant.

I do love American standard toilets they are the actual easiest ones to install on the market.

Well, another satisfied and happy and grateful client that he chose Wagner's Water Works
(847) 372-1863

That's why I have 100% positive feedback on my five-star reviews on Facebook.

And that's extremely rare to see any plumbing company to have 100% positive feedback.

I also have 100% positive feedback on my Google business profile.

I do only service Plumbing.
So I only service the Plumbing that's already been installed.

But I also dig up sewers and install cleanouts and flood controls.

And of course I do water heaters and sump pumps and ejector pumps.

I also take the time to give clients other plumbing tips while I'm out at there house.

So you will find out that I'm not your typical greedy plumber that wants to sell you everything that I can in the plumbing field.

I'm a man of my word so you will never catch me in a lie.
Just keeping it Real!!

I will be the last plumber you ever choose for all your Pump needs.

On average I'm at least $500 lower for the price of installing ejector pumps, then most plumbing companies are but I'm usually about $1,000 lower for the average price of an ejector pump.

I charge $300 to unclog underground pipes.

Slightly higher for overhead sewers if I have to go inside to tackle the sewer problem.

I charge $250 to unclog tubs and sinks.

On my platinum gold standard pumps with Wi-Fi built in them.

They come with a a manufactures 5-year warranty.

They are rated for 10 million cycles and they are half horsepower.
And those sump pumps are self-monitored and give you reports to your smartphone of any issues with the pumps before they may arise.

On my standard sump pumps I offer a 2-year warranty parts and labor.

And on all my other plumbing I offer a one-year guarantee.

Hello friends and Neighbors!

My name is Darren.

Helping my community save on their Plumbing bills and always kind enough to give Plumbing tips so you can have more Plumbing skills.

I went out to Ferguson Plumbing in Indiana they called me about their toilet leaking.

Crazy thing is, I'm usually going to Ferguson Plumbing to pick up plumbing supplies and getting assistance from them.

This time I'm at their place giving assistance to them.

They had it backed up sewer recently and when it backed up they noticed the wax ring was leaking underneath one of their toilets.

So as a precaution after they got the sewer unclogged they decided to have the wax ring replaced.

Another mission accomplished.

One important tip that I always like to remind to my clients.

If you ever have a valve that is leaking underneath your toilet or sinks.

Don't let the plumber try to sell you a new valve.

If the valve is leaking right at the handle.

There's about a 99% chance you can tighten the packing nut around the handle and that will stop the leak coming from the handle.

Because when you open the valve up enough times, the packing nut and washer will start to come loose and therefore start to leak around the handle.

So 99% of the time you can just tighten up the packing nut and the leak will stop.

I usually always check the packing that before I leave to make sure it's tight.

Go with the Flow and call the Pro!!

I'll get all your prayers answered and add more blessings to your life.

Hello Friends and Neighbors!!

Another great opportunity, on how I save my community on their Plumbing bills and show off my Plumbing skills.

I got called out to Prospect heights last week.

A client just got an estimate to change an angle stop underneath the kitchen faucet.

Also known as a shut-off valve for the faucet.

The last plumber that was there told him it would be $550 to change the valve.

I'm not sure if that included the service call for it or not.

Of course the plumber made up all kinds of excuses why he was charging so much he must have read a script. πŸ€”πŸ˜πŸ‘€

Because my client told me that the plumber said he needed to purge the line and shut off all the valves that were connected to it.

And yada, yada, yada, some of these plumbers become so good at telling lies.

So he told the plumber to get lost and payed the service fee.

It's amazing how greedy these plumbing companies are.

I mean I know Plumbing is not cheap because there's always a problem you cannot predict when your doing plumbing.

But that was highway robbery.

Anyways as soon as I gave him a quote over the phone and saw a picture of the job.

He pretty much hired me right over the phone.

This valve has apparently been changed twice since it was originally installed back in the seventies.

I know that because when I went to take the valve off that was currently installed.

I noticed a compression nut and feral was still on the pipe left from the original valve.

Apparently the last plumber got got the valve off but could not get the feral and nut off so he just left it there and installed a new valve.

Well the trick to getting these compression rings off.

Is using an oscillating saw.

The trick is not the cut it off because you could damage the pipe and cause more problems.

The key is putting on the oscillating saw on the ferrule and vibrating the ferrule so much,
That all the crust and mineral deposits that are keeping the ferall from coming off, disintegrate.

Well once all the rust vibrates off the feral, then the feral can spin off.

The oscillating tool works great for vibrating basket strainers under kitchen sinks to help those nuts come off easier too.

By the way another important reminder.

If you have a shower faucet that was installed in the 90s and up until today.

The faucet companies like Kohler and Delta and American standard and Moen.

Always recommend that you run your shower faucet at least once a month.

Because these newer shower faucets have pressure balancing spools built into them.

Also known as posi temp cartridges.

If you're shower faucet is not used periodically then when you go to use your shower faucet it's very likely that the pressure balance spool won't balance properly and you won't get equal amount of hot and cold water coming out of your shower faucet.

Then you'll need to change out the cartridge.
