🌳 Are your trees showing signs of summer stress?
By August, trees across Northern Michigan and Wisconsin may begin showing problems that were harder to notice earlier in the season. Keep an eye out for:
🍂 Leaves changing color or dropping too early
🌿 Dead or bare branches near the top
🍄 Mushrooms or decay around the trunk
🪵 Cracks, cavities or loose bark
🌲 Branches hanging over your home, driveway or power lines
⚠️ A tree suddenly leaning or lifting soil around its roots
Early leaf drop doesn’t always mean a tree is dying—it can also be a response to heat or a lack of water. However, sudden decline in an oak tree may warrant a closer look because oak wilt symptoms often become noticeable during summer.
If you’re unsure whether a tree is stressed, diseased or becoming unsafe, St. Vincent Tree Service would be happy to take a look.
