We’re proud to share that our very own Assistant Superintendent Jessica Zeliger recently spoke at the 2026 Women Who Build Summit at UMass Amherst, partnering with BXP’s Senior Construction Manager Leah Zambetti Ryan to discuss building confidence for women in the construction industry.

They discussed the importance of mentorship, overcoming obstacles, using your voice, and finding meaningful support throughout one’s career.

The session was moderated by Gilbane Building Company’s Preconstruction Executive Alondra De Leon.

We appreciate the opportunity to be included in the Boston Business Journal’s recent coverage on how contractors are expanding beyond their home markets.

As our clients continue to grow, Commodore Builders is growing alongside them, expanding thoughtfully into markets like Nashville while continuing to strengthen our presence across New England.

Our ability to deliver large, complex, and technically demanding projects continues to open doors in new regions, while maintaining the culture, responsiveness, and attention to detail that define our company.

Proud of the team and partnerships driving this continued momentum.

Throughout the week, we hosted several toolbox talks, along with safety demonstrations by on silica safety.

It’s National Construction Safety Week! 🦺

At Commodore Builders, safety isn’t a box we check — it’s a shared responsibility and a core value we bring to every job site every day. This year’s theme — All in Together: Recognize, Respond, Respect — reflects our belief that preventing serious injuries starts with awareness, accountability, and looking out for one another.

Throughout the week, we’ll be reinforcing that commitment across our job sites and offices because safety is strongest when everyone is part of the conversation.

Building the future of the trades — one apprentice, mentor, and milestone at a time.

In recognition of National Apprenticeship Week, joint‑venture partners Commodore | Walsh (Commodore Builders and Walsh Brothers) hosted an appreciation lunch to celebrate the skilled workforce bringing the Veterans’ Home in Holyoke project to life.

We’re especially grateful to the on-site mentors who share their knowledge and guide apprentices as they grow in the trades. With Phase 1 nearing completion, it was a meaningful opportunity to pause and recognize the craftsmanship, collaboration, and dedication happening every day on site.

Since ramping up in 2024, we’ve proudly maintained a 20% apprentice ratio, a clear reflection of our commitment to workforce development and long‑term opportunity in the trades.

Thank you to our subcontractors, union building trades, and apprentice and pre‑apprentice program partners for continuing to move this important work forward.

As National Apprenticeship Week wraps up, we’re sharing the final video in our three-part series highlighting the impact of workforce partnerships and career-connected learning.

Commodore Builders Co-Op Student Markin Bautista reflected on his internship experience and how hands-on learning helped shape his career goals.

“As a student at Franklin Cummings Tech, it’s been valuable to connect what I’m learning in the classroom with what is actually happening in the field,” said Bautista. “It’s helped me realize that I want to pursue a superintendent role, where I can be out in the field coordinating the work and helping keep the project moving day to day. This experience has given me a clear direction for where I want to grow in this industry.”

This is the third and final video in our National Apprenticeship Week series. Thank you to Franklin Cummings Tech and students like Markin for driving the future of our industry.

As National Apprenticeship Week continues, we’re sharing the second video in our three-part series highlighting the impact of workforce partnerships.

Commodore Builders President Tom Comeau sat down with Franklin Cummings Tech President and CEO Aisha Francis, PhD, to discuss the value of internships and career-connected learning.

Having completed three internships himself, Comeau reflected on how those experiences shaped his career. “When I look back, I was much more prepared than students coming out of school because of those internships, and we want to have that same type of program here at Commodore,” he said. “It’s a real opportunity for students to learn, and it’s a great opportunity for us to get exposed to those students, as well.”

This is the second in a three-part video series celebrating National Apprenticeship Week.
