Cut your own lavender in season. Experience lavender in Maine at Moore Manor Lavender. Our first lavender plants were started in 2014, we now have about 2000 plants on our lavender farm which is located in Central Maine (Newport). Time to cover lavender??

We generally wait until the end of October but you can anytime after the first frost.

We cover our plants because even though lavender can take freezing temps and snow, it doesn’t usually do well with a whole winters worth. The layer of covering gives it just enough protection to increase its survival rate.

One year we did not cover 250 of our plants and we lost about one third of the plants. We only lost a few of the plants that had been covered!

We protect them with a lightweight fabric row cover called Agribon 50.
Place the cover directly on top of the plants. They may be a little flat when you take the cover off in the spring but with the sunshine they will pop right back up! 😊

We have Agribon 50 available on our online store or in store, just text or call Peggy to stop by, 207-992-3070.

We will also be OPEN October 22,23,24 so you could stop by then and grab some holiday gifts and a yummy cookie!! 😍💜
