It's Sunday evening. There's 2 brains behind Stateline Electric:

One of them is in the kitchen working on a fresh loaf of sourdough bread for tomorrow's service change.
The other one is heading to Metaline Falls for another emergency service call for an elderly customer with a failed leg of power.

One of these roles is not like the other.
Both are vital to the heart of Stateline Electric.

Edit: Stateline is heading north to take care of it.

Is anyone available in the Ione or Metaline Falls area today for an emergency service call? This will be a volunteer job. An elderly, disabled man on oxygen had a GFI fail. He has switched to a generator for his oxygen tank but it's limited on the time it can run. He has suffered a major heart attack, a stroke and needs some help. He lives in a 5th wheel & has no family and no close neighbors. If we can't find an electrician nearby, we will head up as soon as we can pull off the last job site in Newport, but it's over an hour north, so wanted to see if anyone else was closer and willing to help us out. Already reached out to Wes up north, and he's unavailable today.

***Update: Need met, Thank you Bill, with Northern Lights Electric! We appreciate that you answered our call, and went out of your way to meet this need. It's VERY hard for us when we can not get to a customer and it's a wonderful thing to have other local electricians who will go above and beyond to meet needs. ***

ELECTRICIAN NEEDED TODAY or tomorrow for a local service call-
We have a customer we can not get to, who has no hot water and needs an electrician to come troubleshoot the issue. Sounds like it's possibly a failed breaker. If so, he will need a new 30A
2-pole Eaton breaker.
Are there any local electricians who are licensed in WA who can help meet this need?

What are you doing tomorrow between 3:30pm and 7pm???? Come hang out with us and some fantastic local businesses in downtown Newport, at the Pend Oreille Realty's GRAND OPENING! Ribbon cutting is at 5pm and we hope to see you there.

Also, they will be raffling off certificates from Stateline Electric for a service call with NO service call fee. The certificate needs to be redeemed within 30 days but you can schedule the service call date for whenever it's most convenient for you, beyond the 30 days. If you've been needing some electrical work done, Friday 4/24/26 at 3:30pm is the time to get down to Pend Oreille Realty and get your certificate. We look forward to seeing so many fantastic locals!

Spring is definitely here! Are you enjoying the sunshine and getting excited for the warm weather to return? We sure are. We installed a new feeder to the fiber cabinet at Mi Fiber, and while out here working, we continue to reflect on how much we enjoy partnering with our local businesses. Not all volunteer work is equal. Definitely hard to complain about anything with a view like this. We aim for a day a week of some form of volunteer work in the community and this one is giving more than it's taking. Get outside and enjoy the beauty of where we live. It can recharge you in the best of ways, especially if you're tired and feeling overwhelmed by the worries of the world. We can't fix everything going on, or even some of it, but we can pause, take a deep breath, and appreciate what's right in front of us. It's going to be okay.

When our local theater owner called saying he had a magician show scheduled that weekend, and the curtains wouldn't open and close remotely, we had to perform a little magic of our own to work it into the schedule. That week was full so it had to be a sunrise appointment, but it all worked out great. Some reconfiguring of the curtain motor controls by Stateline, and some reversing of the contacts by the owner, and the stage was set.

The best part of being a local business owner, is the flexibility to work outside of the box and make sure our neighbors are taken care of. Supporting small businesses like Stateline Electric, or non profits like The Newport Roxy Theater, will always come back around to help this community thrive, one way or another. So, thank you to those who support local!

This past month's weather has been all over the map, from snow to rain to beautiful blue sky days. Here's a 24 KW Kohler generator install we recently completed, with a 200 amp rated automatic transfer switch. It was finished just in time for the last power outage where the customer reported no interruption of service, even while the neighborhood was dark. We've been experimenting with new sourdough recipes this week and have substituted the water for fresh whey. It's producing a rich flavorful and filling loaf of bread. Don't be surprised if we show up to do electrical and leave a loaf of bread on your kitchen counter. It's a small reminder that you were our neighbor before you were our customer.
