Hampton Roads Crane & Rigging has been part of the fabric of this region since 1981.

Bill Speegle founded this company with decades of hands-on industry experience and a standard that's defined HRCR ever since: show up prepared, execute with precision, and keep your people safe. His son Jim carried that forward, building the company into one of the most trusted crane and rigging operations in the Mid-Atlantic over more than 30 years.

Last year, HRCR began a new chapter. The company was acquired by 1850 Investments, a local investor group committed to growing the business and building on what the Speegle family spent four decades establishing. Jim has stayed on through the transition, and the crew that made HRCR what it is remains the backbone of every job we take.

The name on the crane is the same. The commitment behind it runs just as deep. Learn more about the history of HRCR at hamptonroadscrane.com

Before any crane leaves our yard, a lift plan is already done. That means load calculations, ground bearing assessments, rigging specs, swing radius checks, and a clear sequence of operations. All reviewed by our team and tailored to your site.

It's not extra paperwork. It's the difference between a lift that goes smoothly and one that doesn't. Ask us about our complimentary on-site assessments before your next project.
