Paving Newnan Crossing Bypass from McIntosh Parkway to Lower Fayetteville Road will occur on November 17. Expect paving to last a few weeks.

📍Starr’s Mill Golf Cart Tunnel

We had 28 days to close the road over Summer Break to build the new golf cart tunnel at Starr’s Mill.

This incredible crew accomplished building the tunnel, 1250’ of retaining wall, paving the road, striping and landscaping in just 26 days! Oh yeah…. And we had 12 days with rain and didn’t work a single Sunday!

We are very proud of this project and the amazing crew that made it happen!

We are very proud of the efforts of Georgia Concrete & Precast along with our team in the Newnan Crossing Bypass Emergency Culvert Repair project in order to get the project complete and open the road in record timing!

Georgia Concrete & Precast (GCP) is located in Greenville, GA and was established as a precast plant to manufacturer MSE walls for GDOT, ALDOT, TDOT and SCDOT in 2020. In March of 2022, an existing 144” corrugated metal culvert (circa 1996) had rusted out and washed away in heavy rains. The failure of the culvert caused a significant disruption to the traveling public and local officials scrambled to find a solution with existing producers being 6 months away from being able to produce a replacement system. GCP accepted the challenge to step up and produce their first ever precast box culvert. Their first try… a massive 200’ triple barrel precast box culvert, a single run of 8’x10’ and a double run of 8’x8’, produced in just 5 weeks casting 3 pieces per day. Our team stepped up to help the community and it launched GCP into new ventures in the underground drainage business. Nearly three years later, we now offer a full line of storm and sewer manholes, barriers, retaining walls, electrical vaults, reinforced concrete pipe, headwalls and yes, precast box culverts. GCP continues to expand our capacity as we grow in the precast arena with a team committed to making quality products and providing superior customer service. GCP is now a proud member of the Georgia Utility Contractors Association (GUCA). Give us a try on your next project!
