A nice reminder from our friends at Evansville Animal Care and Control about animal welfare in this extreme heat…
☀️🐾 ANOTHER HOT DAY IS AHEAD — PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE! 🐾☀️
These temperatures can be dangerous and even deadly for our pets and wildlife. Please take extra precautions today!
🐶 DON’T leave your pets outside without shade, fresh water and proper shelter. Better yet, when it’s this hot, please don’t leave your dog outside for long periods of time — even when those things are available.
🐾 DON’T walk your dog on hot asphalt. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. Keep walks short and save longer walks for cooler parts of the day.
🚗 LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME — NOT IN A HOT CAR! Temperatures inside a vehicle can become dangerous very quickly.
🦝 DO NOT SET ANIMAL TRAPS DURING EXTREME HEAT! This includes traps for domestic animals AND wildlife. An animal trapped in the heat without access to water or shade can quickly become critically ill or die.
❤️ Please look out for your pets, neighborhood animals and wildlife.
A little common sense and compassion can save a life.
