A quick check-in on our next five days of temperatures vs the heat index, taken in the Lansing region as a centralized location.

Red is air temperatures, while pink is the feels-like temperatures that us as humans are susceptible to, similar to the wind chills during the winter months. Between now and Thursday, check up on your loved ones, pets, and even yourself. Healthy individuals can often be dealt a lifetime of heat-related illnesses after scoffing at the heat index and not properly hydrating throughout a warm spell. Take care of each other. A couple locations primarily along and south of US-10 may see isolated heat index readings of near 105, depending on cloud cover from any nearby thunderstorms.

We will begin releasing heat index maps for the middle of the week starting tomorrow to give you all a better idea of what it will "feel like" across the mitten.

🧡 Hey Mitten Family! 🧡

We’re doing a little fun-draiser for one of our amazing Mitten crew members!

This young man has worked hard, saved hard, and carefully planned a very special trip. Unfortunately, with fuel prices and travel costs continuing to rise, his airfare has jumped quite a bit higher than expected.

We’re looking to collect returnable cans and bottles to help get him off the ground and on his way! Every can, bottle, and donation helps, no matter how small.

If you’d like to contribute, send us a message and we can arrange a convenient drop-off location near you or even come pick them up. We will also gladly accept monetary donations through various methods—just reach out for details.

Our crew works incredibly hard every day, takes pride in what they do, and strives to provide the best possible service to everyone we serve. This is a chance for us as a community to give back to someone who has given so much of his time, effort, and dedication to others.

Thank you for taking a moment to read this and for considering helping this hardworking young man achieve something he’s worked so hard for. Together, we can help make this trip a reality!

🌊☀️ When we say “Lake Life,” I think our version might be a little different than most people’s!

While some folks are out enjoying the sunshine from the dock, our crew decided the best seat in the house was in the lake. 😆

The guys spent the day tackling some shoreline cleanup and making properties look their best. It was an absolutely beautiful day to be out on the water… or in it, depending on who you ask! 💦

A huge shoutout to the crew for diving right in (sometimes literally) and getting the job done. Whether it’s shoreline restoration, cleanup, maintenance, or helping bring a waterfront property back to life, we’re always happy to get our feet wet for our customers.

Remember, lake life isn’t always about relaxing on the pontoon—sometimes it’s about putting in the work to keep those shorelines looking amazing!

Whoa! What a week for the mitten crew! 🔥🌱

The crew absolutely went hard this week getting those last-minute holiday projects wrapped up and customers ready for the weekend! Between mulch installations, cleanups in, lawn maintenance and full landscape transformations, it’s been nonstop from sun up to sun down! 💪

One of the biggest highlights this week was a full new-build landscape project that came together beautifully! We tackled irrigation installation, lot regrading, prep work for lawn installation, patio work, edging for flower beds, and built a beautiful berm with that staggered block look that turned out AWESOME! Seeing everything come together after all the hard work makes those long days worth it! 🙌

Our mow crew was out there making lawns POP just in time for all that holiday traffic and family get-togethers! ✂️🌿 Nothing beats crisp stripes and clean edges heading into a busy weekend!

We also installed some beautiful large flat-cut stone steps, added a driveway drain, regraded a driveway, and brought in 12 yards of dolomite to properly reshape and re-slope a yard for better flow and function! 🚜🪨

All in all — great weather, great projects, exhausted bodies and one heck of a crew behind it all. Couldn’t be more thankful for every one of the guys and gal that showed up, pushed hard, stayed positive and got it DONE this week. You all are what makes Little Mitten what it is! ❤️
