California’s home batteries are beating gas plants and saving big money 🔋

California’s residential battery fleets are now stepping in during peak demand hours, replacing expensive gas peaker plants. The state’s Demand Side Grid Support program already enrolled 700 MW of home battery power, about the size of a gas plant.
By 2028, that could double to 1,300 MW, saving the grid up to $206 million while cutting pollution at the same time
