It’s a great day for drilling in Millerton, NY! ☀️

We’re here for a complete, whole-home geothermal retrofit on a 1,900 sq. ft. home. This family of four is very excited to get off fuel oil and to get air conditioning!

Our drilling partners at Rototec are putting down a single 600 ft. bore to power a 3-ton package unit and a 2-ton split.

The full overhaul included:
* Replacing all outdated fiberboard ductwork with brand-new ducting
* Removing the old oil system for good and all the electric resistance heaters
* Installing a high-efficiency heat pump water heater

From soup to nuts—design, drilling, ductwork, and installation—we manage every step of the process.

It’s DRILLING DAY in the Catskills! 🚜💨

Honestly, watching the drilling equipment mobilize and seeing the vertical ground loops go into the earth never loses its excitement.

In just 2–3 days, this closed-loop geothermal system will be installed and trenched back into the house, connecting straight to the ground source heat pump. We're on-site every step of the way to make sure the installation is seamless, efficient, and up to our highest standards.

The best part? This homeowner is getting eco-friendly AC just in time for the summer heat! 🔥➡️❄️

Ground source heat pumps... or as the Pre-K class calls it: Earth Magic! 🪄🌍

We took the Taproot Geo mission to the classroom this week to chat with kiddos about how we use the ground to heat and cool our homes.

Teaching early learners about renewable energy is a reminder that the "good word" about geothermal is simple: it’s smart, it’s clean, and it’s right under our feet. Plus, they had the best questions!

Geothermal heat pumps are extremely easy to maintain! The only thing you need to do is change the filter every 3-4 months.

This video outlines the simple maintenance process for replacing air filters in a ground source heat pump packaged unit.

Easy peasy!
