Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association (WTPA) was first organized in April of 1970 during the first official meeting in Stroughton, WI. It was announced at this meeting that there would be a test pull at Lloyd Luedtke's home using his sled on May 31, 1970. This test pull would officially start the 1st pulling season of WTPA. During that pulling season there were about 50 WTPA members. They particip

ated in 13 events around the state of Wisconsin that year. In October, they held a state championship pull at the World Dairy Expo inside the Dane County Arena. On December 1st the first annual WTPA Awards Banquet was held at the Madison Holiday Inn East. Well, 50 years later, WTPA is still strong and growing every year. Wisconsin Tractor Pullers is governed by a nine member board. All members are elected by the general membership at their meeting every December. To be eligible for a position on the board they must be a member and a current resident of Wisconsin. If elected they will serve a three year term on the board and attend frequent meetings to discuss issues for the state. Our President and Vice President is Kurt Afdahl and Roger Kutz respectively, with our treasurer being Chris Pichler. WTPA pulling classes are Pro Farm Tractors (PF), Super Farm Tractors (SF), Limited Pro Stock Tractors (LIM PS), Light Pro Stock Tractors (LT PS), Light Limited Super Stock Tractors (LLSS), Light Super Stock Tractors (LSS), Heavy Super Stock Tractors (HSS), Modified Mini Tractors (MINI), Modified Tractors (MOD), Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks (TWD), Super Stock Four Wheel Drive Trucks (SSFWD), Modified Four Wheel Drive Trucks (FWD), and Pro Street Diesel Four Wheel Drive Trucks (PSDT).

We’re kicking things off TONIGHT with the Jim Falls Lions, where we’ll crown this year’s champions in the Pro Farm Tractors, Super Stock 4x4 Trucks, and Four Wheel Drive Trucks! With championships on the line and plenty of horsepower ready to hit the track, you won’t want to miss it. Grab your friends, bring the family, and come out for a night packed with high-powered, heart-pounding pulling action!

Pullers heading to Ridgeland this weekend, you may enter the grounds from County Road V for easier access, especially if you plan on arriving tonight during the Demo Derby. You are still able to access the grounds off of WI-25 as you have in the past.
