Become the place everyone finds their way to.

Centered around flame, this FireFeatures installation transforms fire into a sculptural focal point designed to invite people in and keep them gathered.

Created in collaboration with Janice Parker and the inimitable Ms. Parker, the OG of placemaking, this project brings together distinctive form, warmth, and movement to make fire the center of the experience.

Art that works.

That’s the phrase I’ve used for years to describe what I make, and The Bridge is one of those pieces that brings that idea into focus.

I’m making sculpture, but I’m also making something that has to function, perform, meet code, withstand the elements, and still hold onto the idea that made it art in the first place.

I recently had the opportunity to speak about that process at the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Conference on Landscape Architecture 2026, and about why specificity matters so much in my work. Each piece is shaped by its material, its place, and the people who will experience it.

The Bridge reminds us that the technical and the artistic don’t have to compete. They can become part of the same idea.
