We are pleased to be collaborating on a new residential renovation, working alongside an outstanding international interior design team to translate a design vision into a coordinated, code-compliant, and buildable project.

Interestingly, it’s the second project this year that we can literally see from our office window.

We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of the Katz Architecture & Project Management team, Charles Anderson III.

Charles recently graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Architecture, along with minors in Entrepreneurship and Construction Management. During his time at Pratt he served as both a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant and recently earned his Passive House Designer Certification.

Since joining KA, Charles has contributed to a wide range of projects, including interior renovations and façade restoration work, and has quickly become a valued member of our team.

We are delighted to welcome Charles and look forward to seeing him continue to grow with the firm.

🏆 ✨We are very excited to announce that two of our projects – El Teatro at El Museo del Barrio, in Manhattan, and Artists in Residence – A Home for Traveling Performers, in Brooklyn, were both recognized by the California Society of Registered Architects with Awards of Merit. One of the advantages of custom residential design is the creativity it affords to shape a home around how people actually live—and the specific needs they have.

In this Upper West Side apartment renovation for example, we reconfigured the existing three-bedroom layout to carve out a dedicated study area—transforming what was once part of the living room into a quiet, flexible retreat. Designed in collaboration with interior designer Tami Wassong ( ), the space now serves multiple purposes: a place to read and work, a cozy area for children to wind down or self-regulate, and a comfortable guest room with an integrated sofa bed for guests.

This is just one small but meaningful example of how thoughtful planning can unlock new uses within an existing footprint—creating spaces that feel both intentional and deeply personal.
