We are pleased to announce that La Peninsula has been recognized with the 2021 Big Apple Brownfield Award for Community Open Space.

Designed by WXY Architecture + Urban Design and Body Lawson Associates, this innovative new affordable mixed-use housing development in the South Bronx brings an unprecedented mix of 740 low-income apartments, new job opportunities, and a rich civic experience. The architects reimagine a former juvenile detention center for mixed commercial, education, wellness, light industrial, retail, parking and residential uses with plentiful open space and a new public plaza.

We are happy to announce that Victor Body-Lawson -BLA's principal- has been honored with a special award from the
AIA New York State -American Institute of Architects, New York Chapter- for his leadership in affordable housing.

For the past 25 years, Victor's journey as an Architect along with BLA has been to endeavor to empower people with architecture, especially through equity in Affordable Housing.

We are happy to share this award and we hope to continue working in creating a more sustainable and equitably balanced society through Architecture and Design.
