An unfinished basement's wooden floor joists reveal a network of plumbing and wires. A main two-inch PVC pipe runs horizontally across the view, secured by metal hangers that extend downwards from the lumber. One end of the white pipe turns in a ninety-degree angle as it fits inside the subflooring. The other end, visible to the right, descends into a floor drain. Below this installation, another PVC pipe passes from right to left, supported by a metal strap. Thinner copper lines are visible near the upper-right corner of the image, while black and white electrical cables trace different paths along the joists.

System was installed 2 weeks ago by someone else and started icing up…. This was at the suction service valve.

Handle off or swap for a shorter one? 🤔

Can't turn this shut off valve for my outside hose line because the handle hits the metal framing halfway. I'm stuck here trying to get the water isolated.

Does the handle come off, or should I try swapping it with a shorter one? Looking for any tricks to get this closed.
