There are days we spend in the training room instead of out in the field. Estimators, project managers, admin, safety, and field crews. Everybody in the same room going over the SOCAT Standard together. Scope. Documentation. Hazard recognition. The stuff that seems boring until it's the difference between a job that runs smooth and a job that doesn't.

There's a sign at the front of the room that says "Every decision on site goes home with someone." That's really the whole point. These folks have families waiting on them. We make sure they have the tools, the training and the safety practices in place.

Today marks an exciting milestone for SouthernCAT and City Church as the footings for the new addition are being poured. Every great structure begins with a solid foundation, and today we are witnessing more than just concrete being placed, we are seeing the beginning of a vision becoming reality.

As the foundation is established, we are reminded of Matthew 7:24-25: “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Just as these footings will support this new addition for generations to come, our faith provides the foundation that carries us through every season.

It has been an honor for the SouthernCAT team to partner with City Church on this project. We are grateful for the opportunity to help build a space that will serve families, strengthen the community, and create opportunities for lives to be changed.

Here’s to the progress we’ve made, the work still ahead, and the many blessings this new addition will bring.

Building on a firm foundation—one that will stand for years to come.

Ok everyone, if you see Jon Mettille today, wish him a Happy 10 Year Anniversary! That's right, today we are proud to celebrate Jon Mettille on his 10-year anniversary with SouthernCAT and officially announce his promotion to Sr. Large Loss Project Manager.

Ten years ago, Jon walked through our doors with zero experience in the restoration industry, starting at the technician level carrying equipment and learning the trade from the ground up. Through hard work, commitment, and a relentless desire to improve, Jon has grown into one of SouthernCAT’s top Project Managers and a leader our team depends on every day.

Over the years, Jon has continued investing in himself and his craft — earning his IICRC Triple Master designation, mold remediator licenses in both Florida and Texas, along with numerous additional certifications and continuing education achievements. His industry knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to lead projects the right way have made a tremendous impact on both our company and our clients.

But what stands out most about Jon isn’t just his accomplishments — it’s who he is as a person. Jon genuinely cares about SouthernCAT, our clients, and the people around him. He has a servant’s heart, leads by example, and is always willing to help others succeed. His attitude, leadership, and consistency embody the core values of SouthernCAT every single day.

It has been a pleasure watching Jon grow into the leader he is today, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for him in this new role.
