Plants can do more than decorate a space. They soften strong architectural edges, create natural buffers for views and sound, and bring a sense of the outdoors inward.

In this workplace environment, greenery helps shape a more comfortable transition between circulation and focused work, adding warmth, texture, and calm to the everyday experience.

For Renwick Gardens, EDG designed a residential amenity space that is flexible, welcoming, and responsive to residents' everyday needs.

The space was planned to support a range of uses, from casual gathering and conversation to music, work, and community events. With a cost-conscious approach, the design uses furniture, color, and layered texture to bring energy and personality to the room, proving that thoughtful design can remain budget-aware while still creating a memorable and vibrant experience.

Inside every renovation is a structure waiting to be understood.

At EDG, our architects, engineers, and designers begin with the skeleton of a building, reading its existing conditions, uncovering its constraints, and identifying the opportunities within its frame. From exposed steel and masonry to new systems, finishes, and spatial experiences, our team helps transform the raw bones of a project into spaces that are thoughtful, functional, and built to last.

We don’t just design what a building will look like. We understand what it is made of, how it performs, and how to bring it forward with care.

Light is a pivotal part of workplace design and productivity, but limited natural lighting can be a real challenge.

That’s why our EDG team collaborated with the experts at to introduce warm, thoughtfully designed lighting that mimics natural light. This isn't just about aesthetics—it's about creating a statement that enhances the space and boosts productivity.

How important is lighting in your workspace? Let us know in the comments!

Design is built from the inside out.
Before the final details take shape, there’s a foundation of systems and structure that often goes unnoticed.
Our designers understand the importance of this ‘gut work’—the hidden elements that support form, function, and experience.

Design integrates material, light, and form into a single language—one that shapes how we move, feel, and experience space.

Here, that language is movement—expressed through rhythm, flow, and the subtle interplay of elements that guide the eye and the body through the space.

Our office redesign was shaped around the moments that make design possible: conversation, collaboration, and the unexpected exchange of ideas.

By creating spaces that encourage connection and thoughtful interaction, our new workplace reflects how EDG works best, bringing people together to imagine, refine, and design with purpose.

EDG is proud to be named a 2026 PSMJ AEC Circle of Excellence firm, placing us among the top 20% of architecture, engineering and construction firms nationwide in PSMJ's Annual AE Financial Performance Benchmark Survey.

This distinction evaluates AEC firms across a rigorous set of financial performance indicators, including operating and net profit margins, labor utilization, accounts receivable collections, and staff retention. Together, these metrics offer a clear picture of operational health and long-term stability.

For the real estate owners, developers, and design partners we work with, this recognition speaks to something that matters well beyond the numbers: a firm adequately structured to deliver exceptional architectural and engineering services. Operational discipline is not always the most visible part of what we do, but it is foundational to how we operate and builds the confidence our clients and collaborators place in us.

Our firm has been included as part of the PSMJ Circle Of Excellence during the years of 2016, 2019, 2024 -2026. We are grateful for this recognition and remain committed to the operational excellence that supports our continued growth and the quality of service we bring to every partnership.

During construction at The Devon, a distinctive ceiling feature begins to take shape.

Collaborating with our in-house 3D printing team and engineers at Synthesis, EDG’s architectural design team developed a one-of-a-kind knife-edge ceiling condition for this residential lobby. Designed within a low-ceiling environment, the gesture introduces movement, playfulness, and visual interest, transforming a spatial constraint into a defining design moment.

It is a reminder that thoughtful collaboration can turn technical challenges into opportunities for expression.
