Reflecting on last week's Love Tomorrow Conference, and feeling truly inspired by the energy and passion I've encountered here. My deepest thanks to the Tomorrowland team and Love Tomorrow organizers for creating such a vital platform for sharing ideas and fostering collaboration.

I also want to express my appreciation to Thomas Ermacora and Alexander D’Hooghe, with whom I shared the panel. Our enriching discussion on the future of urban design and the potential of Regenerative Community Design continues to resonate with me. I had the honor to introduce Bioplanning, a Supernature Labs initiative advocating a shift from traditional grid-based urban designs to cellular communities.

The event may have ended, but our call to action hasn't. To all architects, planners, and visionaries: let's actively shape a sustainable, harmonious future and leave a proud legacy for generations to come.

It was an honor to participate in a United Nations Roundtable on Decarbonizing the Built Environment. Organized by UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) and The Plant New York, and convened with the leaders of some of the most progressive companies and global government representatives, the event was a powerful testament to the urgent and unified effort towards a more sustainable future.

I was privileged to speak on Bioplanning - Supernature Lab’s holistic approach to urban design that seamlessly weaves ecological harmony into our urban landscapes. Bioplanning is not just a theoretical endeavor, but a practical and crucial strategy towards decarbonization. I am incredibly proud to say that Supernature Labs is actively partnering with industry leaders worldwide to implement this approach.

This event reaffirms my belief in the power of collaboration and innovation. As we address the challenges ahead, let us remember that it is within our hands to make a positive difference. I am humbly grateful for this chance to contribute to the global dialogue and am excited to see where our collective efforts will lead us.

Thank you to Executive Director of UN-Habitat Maimunah Mohd Sharif and Lela Goren for the invitation, as well as Special Advisor to the UN Mr. Selwin Hart, Deputy Executive Director Michal Mlynár, UN-Habitat New York City Director Chris Williams, Deepak Chopra, and everybody involved in this critical discussion. Together, we can redefine what's possible and inspire a more sustainable future for all.

MASS PRESSURE - it’s all in the details.
The armchair is a reflection of the times we live in, the massive pressure that we put on our planet, and in return, we put on ourselves. The form illustrates the power of this intense pressure and the effect it has on three layers of simple foam squares, to remind us of the pressure to evolve and rethink our future.

MASS PRESSURE was designed by Dror in partnership with Horm and Novacolor, and was the gold winner at the 2021 New York Product Design Awards.

“A cube meter of foam rubber turned into a functional art piece.
The MASS PRESSURE chair derives from transformation through compression of one cube meter of foam rubber into a unique functional object. Its metal tubular frame grants a comfortable seat, turned seductive through the soft and sinuous lines of the innovative liquid copper-plated upholstery.
HORM presented the MASS PRESSURE chair by Dror at Fuorisalone 2021. Our goal is to narrate how sustainable technology
must-have a key role in inspiring great pieces of innovative design.”

Unfinished No. 02 - City View (The Story)

Unfinished / not brought to an end or to the desired final state. (Miriam-Webster Dictionary)

These 26622x13312 (354,392,064) pixel visuals represent the ever-changing, evolutionary process of cities. Same as human beings, our built environment is a living organism: it breathes, feels, listens, and is shaped by our behaviors and intentions.
SuperNature Labs hopes to collaboratively rethink city and building design to be more biophilic, biomimetic, regenerative, and community-oriented, and in the process increase real estate value, human health, and community prosperity, while decreasing waste, pollution, and environmental degradation.

Our goal is to call upon the global community of urban stakeholders—including designers, architects, planners, engineers, ecologists, construction companies, manufacturers, governments, policymakers, and all citizens—to join them in bringing the BioPlanning approach to life by contributing feedback and design recommendations to the digital Manual, identifying promising innovations and technologies in environmentally-driven planning and construction, and cultivating a network of BioPlanning professionals and stewards that are interested in exploring, testing, and prototyping new urban community typologies, both in digital and physical environments.

There is no more time left to waste, let’s begin what can never be finished but always improved. Follow us on to join the alliance and help carry out our mission!

Nature is the perfect architect and, with billions of years of research and refinement, it’s no wonder. It’s time we learn from nature. It’s time we emulate its genius as we design the future of cities and the built environment.

This logic is known as biomimetics or biomimicry—the use of material s, structures, and systems modeled after biological entities to approach innovations in sustainability by using nature’s patterns and strategies. This biophilic approach to design places our connection with nature at the center of everything we do. It’s smarter, more efficient, more beautiful, and more in alignment with the way we are naturally designed to live.

Not surprisingly, it’s estimated that by 2030, biologically inspired innovations, designed to solve complex human problems, could account for nearly $425B of the US GDP, according to the Fermanian Business & Economic Institute.

Swipe through to see a throwback of how we used biomimicry at The Parque de la Innovación in Buenos Aires. Here, our goal was to create a new type of experience for living and working in the city that creates connection between city life and nature. In order to reflect the national heritage, we used hexagonal geometry that mimicked Argentina’s Iguazi Falls as a way to to renew our connection to nature. The design not only reserves two thirds of the total area for green space, but it uses the valley between to two built environments as a flexible natural space for a variety of activities.
