I’m truly honored and humbled to share that I have been selected to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from the New York Institute of Technology School of Architecture & Design at the 18th Annual Alumni & Friends Reception on Thursday, October 29, from 6–9 p.m. at The Garden City Hotel.

New York Institute of Technology has been an important part of my life, education, and career, making this recognition especially meaningful to me. I’m deeply grateful for the experiences, friendships, and opportunities that have helped shape my journey.

It would mean so much to me to have you join me in celebrating this very special evening. ❤️

The FRIENDS program plays an important role in supporting the School of Architecture & Design and its students, including scholarships, technology, lectures, study-abroad opportunities, and other initiatives that help prepare the next generation of professionals.

If you’re unable to attend, I would be equally grateful if you would consider supporting the New York Institute of Technology School of Architecture & Design through a sponsorship or donation. Your support, in any form, would mean a great deal to me and help create opportunities for the next generation of students and future leaders in our profession.

Thank you for being part of my journey and for sharing in this special milestone. I hope to celebrate with you!

As someone who has had the privilege of being mentored by W***y Zambrano, I can personally attest to his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our profession.

W***y has been an incredible mentor, always willing to share his knowledge, provide guidance, and support the growth of emerging professionals. Throughout his career, he has consistently given back to the community, championed his colleagues, and worked to create opportunities for others to succeed.

His vision for the future of architecture is both inspiring and inclusive. He leads with integrity, empathy, and a genuine desire to elevate our profession while empowering the next generation of architects. W***y understands that strong leadership is built on service, collaboration, and investing in people.

I am incredibly proud to support W***y as he pursues the AIA 2027–2028 President-Elect and 2028 President positions. He possesses the vision, character, and leadership our profession needs to continue moving forward. I have no doubt that he will help shape a stronger future for architects and the communities we serve.

Congratulations, W***y, and thank you for the lasting impact you have had on me and so many others.

Excited to be in San Diego for the AIA Conference on Architecture + Design 2026!

I'm looking forward to inspiring educational sessions, engaging tours, meaningful conversations, and reconnecting with colleagues and friends from across the country. Conferences like this remind me why I value being part of the AIA community - the opportunity to learn, share ideas, and build lasting relationships with fellow architects and industry leaders.

Most of all, I'm excited to spend time with my AIA family and return home energized with new insights, fresh perspectives, and renewed inspiration.

Here's to a great week of learning, networking, and professional growth!

I had the chance to talk about the importance of mentoring younger generations, both young men and women, and encouraging them to follow their dreams of becoming architects. I was especially proud to highlight my college intern, Satish Doobay, who is now a third-year student at NYIT City Campus.

I’m truly honored and grateful to have been recognized at the 2nd Annual Queens of Construction event last week.

Thank you to the IIBEC Metro NY Chapter and the Queens & Bronx Building Association (QBBA) for celebrating and uplifting the incredible women shaping the design and construction industry today. It was an inspiring evening surrounded by talented professionals, from property managers and operators to architects and engineers, all coming together to connect, share, and support one another.

A special thank you to Kelly Greenfield of H2M Architects + Engineers for the nomination, and to Vanessa L. Gibson, Bronx Borough President, for her motivating words.

The event, held at the beautiful Renaissance Hall in Astoria, was a wonderful reminder of the power of community and collaboration. Congratulations to all of the 2026 honorees, it was a privilege to celebrate alongside you.

Looking forward to continuing to grow, connect, and contribute to this amazing industry.

Last week, I had the incredible honor of being featured in Latinas in Architecture, Volume III at the Built by Her: Stories of Remarkable Latinas in Architecture event.

This evening was so much more than a book launch - it was a powerful celebration of resilience, representation, and the voices of Latinas shaping the built environment. Each of us shared a unique journey, and I am truly humbled to stand alongside such an inspiring group of women.

As Latinas represent only about 1% of licensed architects, I am especially proud to be part of a movement that is working to grow that number while inspiring and uplifting the next generation of females to pursue careers in this field.

Thank you to the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee, Rosalind Tsang, Graciela Carrillo for moderating, Alicia Ponce for making this book possible, and Carol Wedge, AIA for your support.
I’m also so thankful to share this experience with fellow panelists Elizabeth Pacheco, Angie Arent, Natasha Espada, and all of the co-authors.
Feeling proud, grateful, and inspired to keep pushing forward.
