Haute Happenings in NYC! Printemps opens its first U.S. store tomorrow, bringing Parisian luxury to NYC’s Financial District. The iconic department store debuts at One Wall Street, an Art Deco masterpiece designed by Ralph Thomas Walker in 1931.

Spanning 55,000 square feet across two floors, the store features the legendary Red Room, designed by Hildreth Meière, with soaring 33-foot ceilings, crimson walls, and gold mosaics. Closed for over 20 years, this newly designated NYC Interior Landmark will finally reopen to the public.

CEO Laura Lendrum describes the store as Printemps’ “pied-à-terre in New York,” designed to feel like an intimate apartment. Acclaimed French designer Laura Gonzalez, known for her work on the Cartier Mansion, blends New York’s bold energy with Parisian elegance. She incorporates bespoke furniture, upcycled materials from fashion shows, and 3D-printed objects for a curated, immersive shopping experience.

More than a store, Printemps at One Wall Street is a luxury destination, cementing FiDi’s transformation into a high-end retail and residential hub.

Haute Hotel Thursday! Step Inside the Refined Elegance of Raffles Boston.

A landmark of luxury in the heart of Back Bay, Raffles Boston merges contemporary design with rich historic influences. Led by Stonehill Taylor for hotel interiors and Rockwell Group for residences and wellness spaces, the aesthetic is inspired by Boston’s rich architectural and natural landscapes.

The sky lobby, set high above Copley Square, is anchored by a grand spiral staircase framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, creating a light-filled, sculptural centerpiece. The interiors balance earthy wood tones, deep greens, and metallic accents, reflecting Boston’s heritage while adding contemporary elegance with stunning chandeliers that feel like floating sculptures.

Guest rooms feature handcrafted floral panels, rich jewel tones, and copper finishes, evoking the city’s botanical and industrial history. The Blind Duck speakeasy, inspired by the Emerald Necklace, is wrapped in custom floral wallcoverings and towering oak columns, immersing guests in a lush, hidden retreat.

Color Palette & Material Story:
Earthy & Natural: Oak wood, deep greens, and botanical motifs root the design in Boston’s landscape.

Haute Hotel Thursday: NYC’s Chelsea Hotel, a legacy of art & rebellion.

Since opening in 1884, the Chelsea Hotel has been more than just a place to stay—it’s been a sanctuary for artists, musicians, and writers. Legends like Andy Warhol, Janis Joplin, and Arthur Miller walked its halls, creating and collaborating in an environment unlike any other in NYC. With its history of wild parties, love affairs, and artistic breakthroughs, the Chelsea remains a symbol of counterculture and creativity, now beautifully restored for a new era.

The Chelsea Hotel Reawakens: A New Chapter for an NYC Icon. After years of anticipation, the legendary Chelsea Hotel has officially reopened, blending its storied past with a stunning new design. The renovation, led by Interior Designers Sara Ruffin Costello, Sean MacPherson, and Anda Andrei, carefully preserves the building’s bohemian spirit while introducing luxurious modern touches. Think opulent velvet drapes, vintage chandeliers, richly patterned wallpapers, and restored woodwork—all evoking the creative energy that once made the Chelsea home to icons like Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen.

The Waldorf Astoria: A Grand Return

More than just a hotel, the Art Deco Waldorf Astoria is a living piece of history—home to legendary guests, world-changing events, and iconic moments. After closing in 2017 for an extensive renovation, its grand reopening in Spring 2025 will mark a new era for this New York City landmark. Restored by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (architecture) and Pierre-Yves Rochon (interior design), the relaunch will blend historic Art Deco elegance with modern luxury, reaffirming the Waldorf’s status as a global icon.

Born from a family feud, the Waldorf-Astoria emerged in the 1890s when two rival Astor cousins built competing hotels that later merged into one. The original Fifth Avenue location was later demolished to make way for the Empire State Building, and the new Art Deco Waldorf Astoria on Park Avenue became the world’s largest and tallest hotel at the time. It also pioneered the concept of ‘the lobby as a social hub’, shaping modern hospitality.

The Waldorf has been a home to royalty, world leaders, and Hollywood icons. Marilyn Monroe lived there during her marriage to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio, and Frank Sinatra performed in the grand ballroom before becoming a resident. From its Gilded Age origins to its Hollywood glamour and cultural significance, the Waldorf Astoria remains one of the world’s most legendary hotels—now ready for its next chapter.

Located in the heart of NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood, the Eventi Hotel by Kimpton is a standout example of how modern luxury and sustainability can coexist. Designed by the incredible Rockwell Group, the hotel opened in 2010, introducing a bold, contemporary aesthetic while also pioneering green hospitality practices in the industry.

From the start, Eventi set a new standard for eco-conscious hospitality, earning the prestigious Green Key certification for its commitment to sustainability. At a time when luxury hotels were just beginning to embrace green initiatives, Eventi led the way by integrating environmentally responsible practices into every aspect of its operations. From Energy Efficiency to water conservation, eco-friendly construction and design materials to waste reduction the hotel paved the way for sustainable Hospitality.

Eventi pioneered the offering of organic, locally sourced food, non-toxic cleaning products, and eco-conscious bath amenities, ensuring the entire guest stay was a healthy one both to the guest and the environment. Kudos to the Rockwell Group for the innovation!
