Construction is Changing. So Are the Rules.

If you’ve driven by one of our job sites recently, you may have noticed these signs posted around protected trees.

They’re not just for show.

As part of the Town of Brookline’s updated Tree Preservation By-Law, contractors are now required to implement specific tree protection measures designed to preserve mature trees during construction and demolition activities.

For our current project, this includes:

✅ Professionally installed tree protection fencing
✅ Clearly designated Tree Protection Zones
✅ Bilingual informational signage for workers and visitors
✅ Restricted access around protected root zones
✅ Strict prohibitions against material storage, chemical dumping, and unauthorized entry

These requirements are just one example of how construction has become increasingly regulated and technically demanding.

Jiahao Chi joins our team with experience supporting multi-million-dollar residential and commercial construction projects throughout Greater Boston. He holds a Master of Project Management with a concentration in Construction Management from Northeastern University, along with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Suffolk University.

His background includes project scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, permitting, compliance, quality control, and project closeout. As an OSHA 30-Hour Certified professional fluent in both English and Mandarin, Jiahao brings a disciplined, analytical, and solutions-driven approach to every project.
