The community had a lot of demands for the recently completed North Boulder Library, designed by WORKac: It had to be accessible, accommodate the local Spanish-speaking population, and respond to the neighborhood’s recent growth and development.

🎉 Exciting News from Hudson Crossing Park! 🎉

We are thrilled to share that Kate Morse (Executive Director), Julie White (Director of Programs and Facilities), and Wendy DeLaCruz (Director of Education and External Relations) have teamed up with Rochester Accessible Adventures to officially become Certified Inclusion Assessors (CIA) and Inclusion Ambassadors! 🌟

As Certified Inclusion Assessors, Kate, Julie, and Wendy are equipped with the knowledge and tools to evaluate spaces with a keen eye for accessibility. They can no longer walk into a building without considering how someone who is visually impaired, uses a wheelchair, or has difficulty opening doors might navigate the space—let alone tackle the challenges of parking lots, bathrooms, and other public spaces!

But their commitment doesn’t stop there. As Inclusion Ambassadors, they are ready to stand alongside people with disabilities, advocating for fair treatment and ensuring that everyone is welcomed with dignity and respect. 💪

At Hudson Crossing Park, we are proud to be led by such dedicated and compassionate individuals working to make our park—and the world—a more inclusive place.

In the bottom right, there is a woman with short brown hair outside in the snow. She is wearing a hoody and blue jacket. Around them are the words "Certified Inclusion Assessors" and "Inclusion Ambassadors. Also pictured is the Hudson Crossing Park logo and the Rochester Accessible Adventures logo.

Ithaca, NY- Rev. Peaches Gillette has formed a new Community Watch Group, with a call for every member of the community to act on their values and combat an uptick in racist aggression, especially that against young children:

"[An adult calling a child the N-word] is a type of bullying that cannot be managed by any child at all. To me, it is the most vicious form of racism, to attack someone that can in no way defend themselves against it."

"Gillette said she has dealt with racism in her life, including since moving to Ithaca. She was most angered, though, by the thought that other people were around when these incidents occurred and nobody stepped in to help."

“This community is constantly patting themselves on the back for being activists, for standing up for social justice, for doing what’s right, for believing in fellowship between black and white,” Gillette said. “And not one person did anything to help my children or those other Black children.”

ITHACA, N.Y. — A slew of recent racist incidents have prompted a response from dozens of local politicians and the formation of a community group dedicated to intervening in future […]
