Shocked myself yesterday.
My house is under construction, and my electrician hooked up the house’s main panel to the temporary construction pole until the utility comes to hook up the main power.
I was flipping the 100A breaker on the construction pole to turn on the power to my house (like I’ve done a number of times) and got shocked. Luckily contact was for less than a second, but my arm was numb and my whole body went tingly for about an hour. Spent a few hours in ER getting tested (blood pressure, ECG, blood draw to check electrolyte levels). Vitals came back normal and I was able to go home, but I’m dizzy and tired. Got lucky it wasn’t more serious.
My plan is to hire a separate electrician to inspect the work that was done and make sure that the house is safe electrically. I will ask them to provide a comprehensive report so their findings are documented in case this is something that needs to be litigated.
I wanted to ask this community if there’s anything else you would do? Also, I attached a picture of the panel on the construction pole and circled the breaker that shocked me, in case you see anything wrong here. Thanks!
