The task is seemingly simple on the surface, yet, it presents an intricate challenge that requires proficiency and discernment.

When dealing with shared coordinates, it’s important to remember that they are not intended to be modified often. The authenticity of these coordinates is crucial for accurate information transfer across various design platforms. However, in case of a change in the base coordinate system or site plan, an update becomes necessary.

Here are my top three guidelines to follow:

🔹Always ensure you have a stable back-up of your project before initiating any changes.

🔹Avoid repositioning elements tied to shared coordinates. Instead, consider adjusting the location of the Revit model within the new coordinate framework.

🔹Finally, consider using ‘Acquire Coordinates’ or ‘Publish Coordinates’ for a smooth transition. These tools help in maintaining consistency across your project.

Remember, it’s all about seamless collaboration, maintaining spatial consistency, and fostering mutual understanding among all stakeholders.
