For over five decades, the Firm has been appointed to design important buildings, and it has successfully completed over 130 projects across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Among its best known works are: the Smith House in Darien, Connecticut; the Getty Center in Los Angeles, California; the United States Courthouse in Islip, New York; the Perry Street & Charles Street Condominiums in New York City and the Jubilee Church in Rome, Italy. Richard Meier & Partners is led by founder and Pritzker Prize laureate Richard Meier and six partners – Michael Palladino, James R. Crawford, Bernhard Karpf, Vivian Lee, Reynolds Logan, and Dukho Yeon. The offices in New York and Los Angeles employ a multicultural staff of talented professionals practicing architecture, urbanism, product design and exhibition design. Meier Architects announces its collaboration with Fort Partners and Immobel to design the landmark Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Marbella. Set along Spain's celebrated Costa del Sol, the 27-hectare resort descends gently to the Mediterranean, embracing the beauty of its extraordinary coastal setting.

Through the masterplan and architecture, Meier Architects combines low-density design with a contemporary interpretation of Southern Spain's architectural heritage. The collection of private residences is shaped by Andalusian light, creating elegant living environments that frame sweeping views and foster a seamless connection to the surrounding landscape.

We are pleased to announce the promotions of Homin Jung and Brendan Pettersen to Senior Associate, and Jiwon Kim to Senior Architectural Designer at Meier Architects.

Since joining the firm, each has made significant contributions to our practice through design excellence, leadership, and collaboration. Homin has led major international projects, including the Lotte Resort in Incheon, The Palace 73 Residences, and Kiwoom Finance Square in Seoul, which recently received the 2025 Seoul Metropolitan Government Excellent Design Award. Brendan has successfully guided complex residential projects across the U.S. and abroad, including condominiums in Marbella, Spain, and a private residence in Hawaii. Jiwon has played a key role in advancing the firm’s residential portfolio, recently leading a premier penthouse residence in Miami and contributing to the design of the Lotte SangAm mixed-use development in Seoul.

The Kiwoom Financial Square reflects our design principles of light, order, and connection. A comprehensive “light story” drives the project, shaping its massing, orientation, and environmental performance through sun path studies and high-performance façade systems. Solar integration and geothermal strategies support a holistic approach to sustainability, advancing occupant wellbeing, and long-term resilience.

The tower maintains a disciplined verticality while introducing terraces and garden spaces that extend the workplace into a more humane, biophilic environment. At ground level, a sequence of plaza, mezzanine, and atrium spaces creates a porous interface with the city, fostering connections between public and private realms. Here, the grid is reinterpreted as a generative system, operating across scales to support a more fluid and socially engaged architecture.

We were honored to join our clients, partners, and city officials in Seoul last month to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new 28-story headquarters for Kiwoom Finance Square. Marking an important milestone for the project, the ceremony celebrated the beginning of construction, our universal commitment to safety and the next chapter for this new workplace and civic destination in the heart of the city.

Kevin Thomas, Managing Principal, delivered congratulatory remarks during the ceremony, which was attended by representatives from affiliates of Kiwoom Group and project partners including Junglim Architecture, Junglim CM, and SK ecoplant. Kevin was joined at the podium by Homin Jung, Associate and Project Lead for the Kiwoom project.
