2026 Inspire Excellence Summer Internship Spaghetti Tower Challenge was held on Thursday July 30th in the home offices of PJS Group. The challenge consisted of a team-based engineering competition designed for interns and early career professionals at the Company. It is one of a series of activities our interns engage in over the summer, each designed to provide a practical application of engineering concepts and networking & social opportunities at the Company and in the construction industry.
In this year’s challenge, teams acted as design-build contractors and were tasked with constructing a freestanding tower from limited materials. The tower is judged on height, stability, schedule performance, material efficiency, constructability, engineering explanation, and jobsite discipline.
The challenge was an overwhelming success with Team #3 bringing home the victory and is now in solid possession of bragging rights until next year’s program, brings another challenge for our interns to tackle.
