Horses in small spaces tend to be very hard on wire and wood, which is why we highly reccomend steel for turnouts, traps, and catch pens. Not only do they look clean, they are built to last generations of heavy pressure.

As horse owners ourselves, we understand what makes a great equine fence - steel means no cribbing, no broken boards, no nails sticking out. No heads flopping over the fence, no hooves sticking through wire, no leaning or broken posts!

Oh, the difference a few years makes!

The first picture is of a fence we re-built on our eastern boundary at home - done as cheaply as possible, it looks similar to a lot of fences we run into out on the range; serviceable, but definitely not maintenance-free. I have to run this fenceline twice a season to make sure things are tight and the wire is only 3 years old.

The second picture is of the 836-6 high tensile woven wire we just put up on our pasture boundary - we certainly didn't cheap out on this material, it is identical to something we would proudly build for any one of our customers, not just something we would slap together at home.

Night and day difference!
