• Vegetable and flower-garden assistance

Aetos Grounds & Gardens is taking on a small number of local properties for dependable weekday help.

Available services include:

• Vacation-rental / Airbnb turnovers
• Cleaning and property resets
• Yard and garden maintenance
• Light exterior cleanup
• Seasonal property care
• General property check-ins and punch-list work

Available weekdays, generally 10 AM–3 PM.

Based in the Cooperstown area and available throughout the Cooperstown–Oneonta corridor.

I’m particularly interested in working with homeowners, vacation-rental owners, property managers, and small businesses that need someone reliable to handle the things that otherwise sit on the list for three weeks.

AETOS GROUNDS & GARDENS // COOPERSTOWN PROPERTY CARE

AGG is expanding its work in the Cooperstown area.

Alongside our grounds, garden, and property stewardship projects, we are now offering short-term rental and Airbnb turnover services for local property owners and hosts.

I am available weekdays from approximately 10 AM–3 PM, which happens to line up rather nicely with the window between checkout and check-in.

Services can include:

• Turnover cleaning
• Bed and linen changes
• Kitchen and bathroom reset
• Trash removal and basic restocking
• Porch, entry, and outdoor cleanup
• Watering and light garden care
• Visual property checks between guests
• Photos after completion
• Small property-care tasks that inevitably appear when nobody is looking

The idea is simple: reliable local help to get the property clean, orderly, and ready for the next guest.

AGG FIELD NOTES // 006

Hydration Station

The field crew requested additional wildlife amenities.

A solar fountain was installed beside a handcrafted bird bath built from reused packaging foam, mortar, and a little too much paint from the assistant foreman.

Wildflower, lettuce, and zinnia seed were scattered throughout the bed. The first seedlings are already beginning to emerge.

One lesson we’ve been learning at AGG is that even temporary places deserve living landscapes.

Renting doesn’t prevent stewardship.

Everything here can move with us:

* the fountain,
* the bird bath,
* the containers,
* the seeds,
* and hopefully the habit of leaving a place a little better than we found it.

The birds probably don’t care that it’s a rental.

Neither do the bees.

Recovered Walk

An existing slate walk was reclaimed through excavation, cleaning, leveling, and careful reinstallation.

Each stone was lifted, cleaned, and reset after the underlying grade was corrected. The objective was not to build something new, but to restore an existing feature that had gradually disappeared beneath time, weather, and neglect.

The surrounding bed was then prepared for a simple succession of wildflowers and zinnias. The path provides the structure. The landscape will complete the composition over time.

Three principles guided the work.

First, begin with what already exists. Stewardship does not always require new materials. Often the greatest return comes from recognizing overlooked value and returning it to service.

Second, a sound foundation determines everything. Every stone depends upon what lies beneath it. Lasting improvements begin below the surface, where careful preparation is rarely seen but always felt.

Third, small improvements compound. Recover the path today. Establish the planting bed tomorrow. Allow each completed task to make the next one easier. Durable landscapes, like durable institutions, are built through consistent, incremental progress.

Evan participated throughout the work, carrying tools, watering the project, and learning that meaningful improvements are made one deliberate step at a time.

The objective was never perfection.

Only progress.
