𝗨𝗣 𝗧𝗢 𝟰𝟵% 𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘?

Starting January 1, 2027, Louisiana’s new FORTIFIED insurance discount benchmarks take effect.

For South Louisiana, the benchmarks are:

FORTIFIED Roof — 29%
FORTIFIED Silver — 43%
FORTIFIED Gold — 49%

These discounts apply to the hurricane portion of the insurance premium — not the entire homeowners insurance bill.

Louisiana has committed more funding to FORTIFIED projects, and additional Louisiana Fortify Homes grant rounds are expected to be announced.

The state program provides grants of up to $10,000 toward qualifying FORTIFIED Roof upgrades.
