Another new initiative hitting New Orleans!

‘New Orleans East Investment and Job Corridor Initiative’

The City of New Orleans recently announced this economic development plan for New Orleans East. The plan is set to prepare properties, infrastructure and bring in new businesses to the East. One of the projected outcomes of the development are new storefronts including restaurants, hotels, retails stores, grocery stores, and entertainment services in the area. Anchored by intersecting corridors, the East is positioned to be a major player in aerospace technology, innovation and advanced manufacturing as well as advancing maritime commerce, warehousing, transportation, logistics and supply chain industries!

To quote the release “Economic development does not stop at the factory gate; it creates opportunity throughout the community.”

Have you heard about the ‘Activate Downtown: Turning Vacant Spaces into Thriving Places Grant’?!

The Downtown Development District of New Orleans recently opened applications for this grant program aimed to revitalize downtown New Orleans. The plan is to reinvigorate street frontages by bringing more commerce downtown. In creating more businesses it attracts more foot traffic and opportunities for local businesses to thrive and for Downtown to grow.

We’re excited to see this initiative and would love to help you rebuild Downtown’s commerce corridors!

If you’ve got a project, idea, or plan for a commercial space, reach out to us! studio^RISE has a lot of experience with properties in the area including Historic Tax Credits, Design, Permitting, Construction Administration, Contractor Negotiations and more!

Heirloom Plans $10M Boutique Hotel Downtown

“The building has tremendous character,” Glaser said. “It had sat undeveloped for some time, and we saw a chance to bring it back to life in a way that honors what makes it special.”

Glaser said the Gravier Street project is part of Heirloom’s broader strategy of expanding its presence across downtown New Orleans.

“It is a natural extension of our investment in downtown New Orleans,” he said. “We have been steadily building a presence across the CBD and greater downtown as well as LGD, and a boutique hotel of this caliber anchors that footprint and reflects a long-term commitment to the area.”
